This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
I took a little bit of a breather this week, at least from posting. I had a lot of comments and discussion posts, etc. to catch up with after I got my editing done, and I decided to spend my free time doing that this week instead of writing more posts. (I’m still not even 100% caught up.) I still haven’t heard about that writing workshop. They apparently received a lot of applications, and they’re still going through them. 🙁 We shall see!
Yesterday, my mom and I attended Anderson’s Children’s Literature Breakfast. It was a great event—watch for a recap later this week (or possibly next week, since I have month-end posts going up this week).
Here’s what you may have missed on the blog this past week:

Lots of good stuff! Have any giveaways or great discussions happening on your site right now? Feel free to share them in the comments!
I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and that workshop. They would be daft not to select you. OMG! You are truly one of the chosen ones to have received a copy of Obsidio. I had gotten the other two at BEA, it was a yearly thing, and this was such a long wait. But the wait is almost over. AND you won another giveaway. I need your mojo. Enjoy all your new books.
I know, I got ARCs of the other two at events as well. I was really hoping to get my hands on an ARC of Obsidio as well, but I don’t even know if they did them.
I hope you do get accepted into that workshop! It would be a great thing for you and your writing. I am keeping my fingers crossed!
I’m hoping too, but I’m trying not to hold my breath. There are a lot of factors that could go into their decision, so I don’t want to get down on myself if I don’t make it (but I’m still hoping!).
Oh wow! All these Obsidio copies are killing me!! Especially since I did reach out to the publisher earlier this year inquiring about a blog tour or even just a review copy. Oh well. I am the midst of series catchup anyway and they’re looong books! Nearly 500 pages each! Still cannot wait to read ti thought! Some of the comments I am hearing from some of the bloggers who got it are making me anxious! I might just be avoiding all reviews and whatnot until I’ve read it myself! Lol!! Though I am SUPER excited to meet the two of them in March!!! They’re coming to my city this time around so I am stoked for such a short drive! Lol!! Are you planning to see them at Andersons as well?
Happy Reading girlie!
Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I’m definitely planning to see them at Anderson’s. I really want to try to get my hands on an ARC of Obsidio since I have all the others. We shall see!
I’ so excited that Obsidio is almost here. Looking forward to it a LOT, although I’ll be sad to see that series end. Can’t wait to see what you think! That breakfast event sounds like a lot of fun.
Wendy’s tweet was amazing, and so was the response (except for the trolls of course).
I agree about Wendy’s tweet. I’m glad she got so much attention for it.
Congrats on the bookish win!! Yay! Hope you hear about the workshop soon!
I’m trying not to be too impatient, but waiting is HARD! 🙂
A breather is a good thing every now and then. Obsidio! Oh my lucky duck. Congrats on the win too. Thanks for the baby shout out 🙂 Hope you have a great week!!
I’m reading Obsidio right now—super excited!
WOW what a week!! I did read Great Reasons to get to know your bookish friends better, that was a really good post!! Congrats on your wins!! I will be visiting some birthday blogs now!!
I’m glad you liked that post. And thanks for visiting people for their birthdays and blogoversaries—I always love to hear that people are doing that!
I still need to read Scythe. Great win with that! Keeping fingers crossed for your writing workshop. Hope you have a great week!
I loved Scythe, so I’m super excited to get Thunderhead!
Ooh luck you winning Scythe and Thunderhead. I still need to read Thunderhead, but I LOVED the first one. Such a great book! And Ooh I’m jealous you have Obsidio. LOL Love those books. 🙂

I’m super excited about Thunderhead. You KNOW my love of all things Shusterman.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you with that workshop!
Thanks! I’m still hoping…
I’m glad you and your mom had fun at the breakfast. Good luck with getting accepted to the workshop. I’m so envious that you got Obsidio. I’m looking forward to reading that one.
Also, if you want to continue your giveaway winning streak, I’m going to have a giveaway on my blog soon. If everything goes according to plan, it should start on 3/1 and end on 4/2. It’s for a book of your choice from Book Depository.
Ha! Okay, hopefully I can keep up my streak! 😉
Oh wow. Looks at those Neal Shusterman books! I got Scythe on audiobook after you reviewed it so I’m hoping to listen to that soon. 🙂
Maybe I should do a reread of Scythe with the audiobook. I’ll have to see how it is jumping into the second book after so long.
Eeep I really hope you hear from the workshop soon. 🙁 And so many exciting bookish things and wins for you this year–why not add to the list, yes? 😉
Thank you so much for sharing my post!
I know, I’m trying not to be too antsy, but it’s hard!
It think is awesome that you and your mom attend bookish events together! Hope you are not getting stressed trying to catch up. Sometimes it is hard to keep up with everything related to blogging! Finger cross about that writing workshop!
I love going to book events with my mom. She’s the best!
I really hope it works out for you with the writing workshop. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
I’m hoping—I still haven’t heard back, so we shall see!
Obsidio has the best cover, I haven’t read but that cover alone is enough to make me want to read it!
I LOVE the covers on these books! So fantastic!
The cover of Picture Us in the Light looks so adorable. I loved Austine’s post as well. I will be off to check other links in your post too.
I agree about that cover!
Fingers crossed on the writing workshop! And I can’t wait to see your review for Obsidio! I bought the first book, near the end of last year, and the format is mind boggling unique and it looks amazing! Enjoy!!
The format makes those books—they are truly amazing!
