Sunday Post header

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

Actually, a lot happened over these last two weeks…

  • I didn’t put up a Sunday Post last week because we drove my daughter Danielle to Purdue on Sunday, and I just didn’t have time with the move to get it done. It’s definitely been strange without her here, and I’m a little sad without her, I’m not gonna lie, but it seems like her transition has been going great so far!!
  • I started working at Barnes & Noble! I’m now a part-time bookseller, and I love it! Who doesn’t want to be surrounded by books all the time and help people find reads they’ll love? Plus, it’s kept me busy and helped me keep my mind off Danielle being gone.
  • Noah started his senior year of high school!

What I Read This Week:

  • I read Paola Santiago and the Sanctuary of Shadows by Tehlor Kay Mejia and then started reading Troublemaker by John Cho.
  • I finished listening to Alive by Scott Sigler during my marathon training and then started listening to Alight. These full-cast recordings make them entertaining!

What I Watched:

  • I watched the first half of the season of The Sandman. This show is pretty darn epic! Guess I need to read the comics.
  • I also watched the first half of season 3 of Never Have I Ever. I really love this show!
  • The rest of my TV watching was sort of random over these last two weeks. We watched a bit more Angel and some more Master Chef Junior, and then I just watched an episode here and there of random things.

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries:

Book Haul:

For Review:

I received The Other Side of the River by Alda P. Dobbs. This one’s the follow-up to Barefoot Dreams of Petra Luna, which I really enjoyed! The cover artist is John Jay Cabuay. Then I also got an ARC of Seven Percent of Ro Devereux by Ellen O’Clover with a gorgeous cover by Andrea De Santis.

I received Dressing Up the Stars by Jeanne Walker Harvey (illustrated by Diana Toledano) for the blog tour. And then I received a surprise in the mail from Union Square Kids—Nothing Interesting Ever Happens to Ethan Fairmount by Nick Brooks. The cover on this one was illustrated by Godwin Akpan.

One benefit of working at Barnes and Noble is that I get access to more ARCs. Okay, so I know I already get plenty of them, but when I saw Troublemaker by John Cho (with Sarah Suk), I had to pick it up. It made for good reading during breaks! The striking cover was illustrated by Chris Danger.

  1. I’ve read a couple volumes of Sandman – I need to keep going. I still need to watch the show too.

I hope Danielle enjoys college! And how fun you are a part time bookseller now. 🙂

  2. Kate

I’ve read a couple volumes of Sandman. I heard mix things about the show so I don’t know if it worth watching.
