The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
It’s starting to seem like a Sunday Post every two weeks is going to be the norm around here. Since my last post, we planned and attended my mother-in-law’s celebration of life service in Tucson. It was nice to spend time with family, even though we all would have preferred to get together under better circumstances, of course. Then, my daughter was home for spring break, so we had some fun game nights and did some early clothes shopping for our trip to Spain and Italy this summer. Sad to see her go back to school!
What I Read This Week:
- I read The Snatcher of Raven Hollow by Matt McMann and Momo Arashima Steals the Sword of the Wind by Misa Sugiura and then I started reading The Stranded by Sarah Daniels.
- I’m listening to Firekeeper’s Daughter by Angeline Boulley.
What I Watched:
- I still have one last episode of The Last of Us to watch.
- I watched all the available episodes of the current season of American Idol. This is fun to watch with my daughter, since she was home.
- I watched the first episode of Dance 100. Definitely an interesting twist on a dance competition show. The choreographers are the ones competing in this one.
Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:
- Nothing. Sigh.

So sorry for the loss of your mother-in-law. I haven’t watched any of American Idol this year, but I would like to catch up. The summer trip to Spain and Italy sounds wonderful!
American Idol is fun to watch, especially now that they don’t make you sit through a million terrible auditions.
It’s always sad when the kids leave. It’s great you have your epic European adventure to look forward to.
Yes, we’re definitely excited about it! (By the way, I tried to comment on your Sunday Post yesterday and got that error message again. 🙁 )
That’s the way my step-grandmother’s celebration of life felt last fall. It was nice seeing family members I hadn’t seen in a while, but it was not the way we would have liked of course. I enjoyed The Stranded. Still need to read The FireKeeper’s Daughter too! Hope you have a good week.
Yeah, it’s definitely bittersweet.
It is wonderful you had family time, in spite of the reasons. With some families spread out geographically, it can be tough to get everyone together. Sometimes a birthday of an elderly family member but otherwise it’s just when one dies.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Yeah, we had a family reunion years ago, but my husband and I haven’t seen most of his extended family since.
That sounds like a fun trip! And it’s always nice when the kids are home on break. 🙂
Yes, I loved having Danielle home for the week!
Firekeeper’s Daughter was one of my top books last year! So good!
I’m really enjoying it!!
Sounds like busy times! Glad the Celebration of Life went well under the circumstances. Must be fun planning for the trip to Italy and Spain though! That’s got to be exciting!
Hope you have a great week ahead!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Yes, I’ve definitely loved dreaming about this trip. It’s the biggest we’ve been on since my husband and I just got out of college.
I’m so sorry about your Mother in Law. I’m glad you got to spend some time with your daughter over spring break too. I hope you have a great week!
Thank you, Wendy!
Thanks Nicole.
Momo Arashinma sounds good!
Have a great week
Momo Arashima is a really fun fantasy, and I loved the Japanese folklore aspect of the book!
So sorry for the loss of your mother-in-law. I’m glad you had had a good celebration of life event with your family. I loved Firekeepers Daughter.
Spain and ITALY? I hope my corner of the woods will treat you right!
We’ll both be in Europe this summer! How fun!!
