Sunday Post header

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

What’s been happening since my last Sunday Post:

My mom and Noah’s birthday. Friday was my mom’s birthday and today is Noah’s birthday! My youngest is now 19, and I can hardly believe it. What sorcery is this?

Book event with Megan E. Freeman. I did an author event with Megan at the Barnes & Noble where I work. She was in town for some school visits because her book was nominated for the Rebecca Caudill Award (which is Illinois’ award for 4th-8th grade students), so I figured it was the perfect opportunity to arrange a bookstore event! It was really fun to do a discussion event with her, and the event was a great success!!

American Writers’ Museum. On Friday, Megan, my mom, and I went into downtown Chicago. We visited the American Writer’s Museum, which had some cool interactive exhibits, had a great lunch, went up to the top of the John Hancock building to see the view of the city, and took a water taxi ride along the Chicago River. We also tried to visit the Bean and a bookstore, but the Bean was under construction and completely blocked off, and the bookstore had closed last week. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What I Read:

  • I finished listening to Two Dark Reigns by Kendare Blake and then I finally listened to Five Dark Fates. That’s right, it only took me four years, but I finally finished this series!

What I Watched:

  • I’ve still been watching more Survivor! Will I ever watch anything other than Survivor? Outlook is hazy, ask again later.

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

    • Yes, we did the event “discussion-style,” so we talked about the book and about writing in general. I asked her questions, but it went really smoothly and honestly did feel more like the two of us just talking about books (most of my questions were just segued into pretty naturally). It was really fun!

    • Yes, I was definitely thinking this would be good practice for my own book events. It was nice to do one with Megan because she’s done them lots of times before and had some great tips for helping it go smoothly. I appreciate her being my “guinea pig.” 🙂

  1. Happy Birthday to your mom and Noah! Glad you had a successful event at your B&N! That’s cool! Bummer about the Bean though! I finally saw that for the first time at my one and only BEA in 2016! It was pretty cool! Although I am trying to think of what bookstore you were looking for…granted I probably wouldn’t be able to remember that one well either! Lol.

Hope you have a great week ahead!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!
