The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
What’s been happening since my last Sunday Post:
Working. A lot. We’ve had a bit of upheaval at work because they’re opening a new B&N nearby, and they decided to move my store manager there. We all really love this manager (and the new manager has a very different management style), so four of my coworkers have decided to go with him (four of the most senior people at the store). Not gonna lie, I’ve had moments of regret over not going with them. So, anyway, they’ve been training us to take over a lot of the duties that those senior employees were doing, plus we’re training new hires at our store and a whole slew of new hires for the new store. It’s been a little crazy, and I’m getting scheduled full-time hours lately instead of part-time. (And those hours are feeling more stressful than they used to, on top of that). Hoping things go back to some sort of normal soon!
Second pass pages. I got my second pass pages (basically, the book in its formatted version so it looks exactly as it will when it’s published) back from my editor and I’m working on going through them now. I had a little bit of a scare after first pass pages because it looked like we still needed to make some possibly significant cuts, but between some smaller edits I’d made and some tweaks my amazing designer made, we’re now able to avoid that. Yay!!

What I Read:
- I listened to The First State of Being by Erin Entrada Kelly, an incredible science fiction/historical fiction time travel story that takes place in 1999 and the distant future!

Lots of good stuff! Have any news? Feel free to share in the comments!
Sorry you have to work so much. I’m glad that you’re revisions aren’t as major as you thought.
That is tough when all the senior people leave and a new manager. Good luck!
Congrats on getting through the next step of publishing your book! I am currently working on the first draft of my first book, and it’s incredible to see others reach those milestones! I hope your job starts to get a little easier as everyone gets more comfortable in their new roles 💖
Good luck with the work upheaval! I’m going through that too. We had 3 people quit right before Memorial Day, which made working on Memorial Day absolutely brutal.
So sorry to hear things have been tough on the work front, hoping that things will slow down and get back to a normal rhythm soon! sending you all the love xx
