I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter and gets to spend a fun day with family!!
Last week on FYFA (and in my life):
We finished up our basement, and it looks great! I’m so excited to get the kids’ video games and crafts out of my family room and dining room! Yay!!
I booked my tickets to RT in Dallas, so it’s official – I’m going! I’m really excited because it sounds like it’s going to be incredibly fun and interactive – plus, some of my favorite authors are going to be there!
This was a busy week on the blog too. I didn’t end up posting the discussion that I had originally planned because I remembered that it was April Fools’ Day on Wednesday, so I decided to post an April Fools’ discussion instead. Several people said that they were almost fooled, and they must have thought I’d gone off the deep end! I can’t decide if I like it better than last year’s April Fools’ post, though – they were both really fun! Anyway, here’s what you may have missed this past week:
- Resounding Truth by Kate Thomas (feature & giveaway) – Still time to enter to win!
- Walled by Anne Tibbets (review)
- Watch the Sky by Kristen Hubbard (review)
- April 2015 Discussion Challenge Link-up & Giveaway – Come join us for the challenge and discuss with us!
- Let’s Discuss – Why We’ve Decided to Ban Books in Our Household – April Fools’ (really, I’m not insane)!
- Released by S.J. Pajonas (review)
- Richelle Mead Book Signing Event Recap
- The Secret Diamond Sisters by Michelle Madow (review & giveaway) – Still time to enter to win!
Next week on FYFA:
- March recap – with everything else being posted this week, I didn’t get to this yet!
- Let’s Discuss – That Book You Wanted to Love
- Scarlet by Marissa Meyer – Review
For Review:

Happy Easter! Exciting about your basement being finished! It’s awesome when a big project is finally done.
Yes, and we’ve been waiting for this one for a LONG time, so we’re very excited!
Happy Easter! I’ve always wanted to go to RT, but the cities that are hosting has never worked out for me. I wish they were closer. :/ Anyway, have a great week!
I hadn’t even really heard of RT, but when I looked into it, it looked like so much fun! Hope it comes out your way sometime soon, so you’ll be able to go!
We really need to start working on our basement! It’s actually big enough to rent out (should we chose to) but it’s going to be a library, a media room and gym! (High expectations!)
I loved your April Fools discussion. I wish you could have seen my face!
Nice!! We just finished a little over half of the basement so that my husband would still have a work area, but it’s the perfect rec room (plus we added an actual laundry room – yay!). Glad I got you for a minute with my April Fools’ post – I wish I could have seen your face too!
I loved your April Fool’s joke, it was awesome!
Glad you liked it!!
The Literary Blog Hop is going on now and there are some great giveaways! Mine is linked below (a copy of The Dean’s Watch by Elizabeth Goudge) —
Awesome! I’ll add that one to my list!
Great wrap up. Your April Fool’s joke was so funny. It really had me going for a bit. I swear, I was thinking about the nicest possible way to tell you that you were crazy before I realized it was a joke. Ha
Glad you realized that I wasn’t completely crazy – at least not in that way! 🙂
Happy Easter! Congrats on finishing your basement! Really enjoyed your April Fool’s Day post. Very clever! And yay for booking your ticket to Dallas for RT! Bet you’ll have a blast! Have a great week!
Yes, I’m SO excited about RT! Can’t wait!
Ooh nice! That’s a totally new to me read but hope you enjoy it!
Yay on the basement too! And eerrgg!! I sooo want to be going to RT this year, because let’s face it. I’m addicted to them now. Being jobless really sucks and I knew I was kinda planning to pass on this one just to save money and then I lost my job anyway…but it’s still a bummer. You’ll have tons of fun though!! I LOVE RT! They are incredibly fun and more fun!
Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!

RT sounds amazing, so I’m glad to hear that it is!! I can’t wait! Sorry you can’t go this year!
I just had to check out your april fools post from last year as well and I think both that one and the one from this year were well done. I might like the one from last year a tiny bit more, i lvoe how you refer to the pages the words are on and act like it’s not a dictionary, but a real book, priceless! You certainly put a lot of effort in those posts and if I hadn’t been so aware it was april fools thanks to the internet, you might have fooled me! Now I was just a bit confused and when I scrolled down and read the tiny letters underneath the giveaway I realized it was a joke.
That’s great news your basement is finished, it must be nice to have more space in your family room! Have a great week and enjoy your new book!
I think I liked last year’s a bit better too – I had more fun writing that one.
Hope you had a good Easter as well. Mine was nice and fairly relaxing. I went over stuff for the trip to NYC in May – I’m sorry you aren’t going to BEA, but that’s awesome about the RT Convention. I have always wanted to go to one.

Well, did you pick the winner? My bags are packed 😉 For the record, while I did love last year’s April Fool’s post, this one was SO FUNNY. Mostly because so many people believed you! This year wins!
I am glad you finished your basement! I would LOVE a place to put the kids’ toys! I bought a dollhouse for my 3.5 year old for Christmas that Santa simply couldn’t give her because I have nowhere to put it!
Congrats on getting your tickets to RT! While I am sad that you won’t be coming to BEA, I hope you have a wonderful time! I need to make sure my next bookish event is a more fun locale 😉
Yay for the basement and recovering your rooms ! You’re gonna have fun in RT 😉
a taylor made life is new to me and it looks good!
I hope you enjoy 🙂 Happy Reading!
Here’s my Weekly Wrap Up

It’s the first time I see the book you had this week but it sounds nice, I hope you’ll enjoy it. Happy reading!
