Sunday Post & Giveaways Galore – 6/14/15

Posted June 14, 2015 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Sunday Post / 25 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

Last week on FYFA (and in my life):

Well, as predicted, I lost a few followers after last week’s faith discussion, but I’m totally fine with that. The overall effect was only one Bloglovin’ follower. (Typically, every week I gain some Bloglovin’ followers. The ONLY times I’ve ever see a negative number are this week and one other week where I talked about a semi-controversial blogging topic – following back. So I can say with almost absolute certainty that the dip correlates to the discussion topic). I’m not sad that I lost a few followers, but I am sad that the mere mention of faith sends some people running for the hills!

Bloglovin

Just to warn everyone, the rest of June and the first half of July are going to be INCREDIBLY busy for me (due to vacations and family stuff), so I probably won’t be posting as regularly. I’m not going away or anything, but I won’t be posting every day either and I probably won’t be around the blogosphere as much as I usually am. Think of it as a semi-hiatus. I promise to do my best to still be around as much as I can, though!!

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog last week:

Next week on FYFA:

  1. Aw, that kind of sucks about the loss of a follower. I know one isn’t a big deal, but when it comes after that type of discussion it sucks. (I tend to lose followers on twitter when I rant LOL)

Thank you for the pingback and YAY for Get Dirty! I hope you love it. Have a great time on your vacations

    • Yeah, obviously the net loss of one follower doesn’t make much difference in the long run – it’s just the fact that I can directly correlate it to that subject that makes it a little sad. That’s okay, though – I’m not at all sad I wrote it! 🙂

  2. Maybe it was just someone cleaning up their Bloglovin’ who broke up with you for another reason. But remember the adage: It’s not you, it’s him/her.
Thanks again for all the awesome bloggy links. Enjoy your mini-hiatus of the summer. I’m sure most of us are doing the same thing.

    • Yeah – I’m not at all upset or going to change anything. It’s just really interesting to me that I can correlate one of the only two times in the history of my blog that I’ve ever had a net loss of followers to that post (most weeks I have a net gain of at least five or six followers, and last week I know I did gain some, but I lost more – I’m sure there have been other times where I’ve lost one or two followers, but didn’t even realize it because it was still a net gain). Like I said, I’m not upset, though. 🙂

    • Yeah, I’m excited to read What We Saw, even though it might be a tough read. Thanks for the encouragement about my followers! 🙂

  3. I actually went down 3 followers this week and I talked about what makes you want to read a book, so not sure how that happened. I also posted one 3 star review, but beside that no weird things. I think your faith post was a great post and I think you should be able to talk about those topics on your blog and if you lose followers because of that, so be it, right? Sounds like the next few weeks will be busy for you, but I hope you’ll still be around. And that’s a nice present you got from your secret sister, I hope your kids enjoy the games! Have a great week and enjoy your new books!

  4. Losing followers is always sad to see, regardless of the reasons. Sorry you lost some.
Congrats on all the books though, I hope you like them all!
Also, I hope you have a very fun next few weeks. Summer is always such a busy time and tricky when your a blogger. 😉

  5. Sorry about losing some followers, but hey, if something like the mention of faith will send them running, then you don’t really need them to follow anyway! I hope you enjoy your next few weeks – sometimes it’s good to just let the blog sit for a bit when you’re super busy.

  6. OOOOH I think I can help with this! So- I am thinking either Bloglovin did a clean up, or something, because a friend messaged me because she randomly lost 6 followers in one day! And I looked, and I had lost one, and then someone else had lost one. So maybe it is seriously just Bloglovin weeding out spam or something? It really may not be the post after all- faith in humanity = restored 🙂

Can I also just tell you how jealous I am of your vacations? SO jealous 😉 Hope you have a wonderful time though, and please, think of me sitting in the house with two crabby kids, okay?

  7. That is so weird that you lost followers based on your faith discussion. I am actually an atheist and I really respected your opinion and your honesty. I love your blog and your discussions of faith don’t bother me at all.

I also just got the ARC for A Million Miles Away and Awake. I am so excited about those!
