Last week on FYFA (and in my life):
Yesterday was the first snow of the year, and it was a big one! My daughter went out into the yard with a yardstick and measured thirteen inches, and that was only at noon–the snow kept going for hours after that! I’m not a fan of the snow, but I don’t mind it if I’m just staying indoors, and I’d rather have a BIG snow than a little one. (Might as well have enough for the kids to enjoy if we’re going to be bothered with it!)
Here on the blog, I’m planning to put together a list of 2016 reading/book blogging challenges. If you’re hosting one (or even just know of one), let me know in the comments and I’ll be sure to include it!
Anyway, here’s what you may have missed last week:
- The Heart of Betrayal by Mary E. Pearson (Review)
- How to Keep Yourself Motivated and Organized for Reading Challenges
- Bookish Backdrops – Firewalker by Josephine Angelini
Next week on FYFA:
- Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin (Review)
- Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries – In addition to putting together a list of 2016 challenges, I’m also planning to put together a calendar with fellow bloggers’ birthdays and blogoversaries so we can all send each other good cheer. I’m putting up an information gathering post next week!

Ohh Titans! I just recently discovered that book. So curious about it. Looking forward to reading your thoughts on these, Nicole!
Happy reading. 🙂
Good lord, I hate snow so much. Lol. I’m not a fan. We live in a walking school district and once it starts snowing, everything becomes more difficult. People don’t shovel or salt, snow piles up on street corners, and commuting becomes dangerous. I’d rather have a winter without snow than with! So, I’ve been glad it hasn’t snowed here yet! And I really hope that it holds off for a few more weeks.
You got lots of great books this week! I didn’t know Kate Mary was putting out another book in her series. That’s great!
Boo to snow! I hope we have a while before it starts here. I am excited to see all the challenges for next year in one place so thanks for putting that together! Enjoy your books and have a great week!
OMG – the snow was insane! I had to drive home from work in the morning in it – not fun at all! And A Novel Challenge maintains an extensive list of reading challenges – so you’ll probably find out about quite a few there.
Oh wow, that’s a lot of snow! But yeah, at least it’s enough for the kids to enjoy if you’re going to get it. I haven’t gotten any snow yet, but sometimes we don’t really get much until the new year. OOh I like the idea of sharing blogger’s birthdays and blogoversaries! Fun idea.
The ladies of ChapterBreak.net and I are once again hosting the #ShelfLove Challenge. The details will be up soon. It won’t be a book buying ban this year, unless of course, the participant chooses it to be!
Will you be doing the Discussion post challenge again?
TITANS!!! I’m so eager to read that. I’ve loved everything Victoria Scott has written!! And holy cow, 13 inches ALREADY!?!?! We don’t get snow this early… but once we’re into December we’ll be right there with ya. LOL Hope you’re enjoying your weekend!!
I am so jealous of your snow! I love snow and would love to see more of it.
Gorgeous haul Nicole^^ Titans and Assassin’s Heart sound and look really good 😀 I actually like snow but it’s like you said: it’s better if you get to stay indoors and not have to venture out in a mess! Oh and I’ll definitely be checking out your list of 2016 Reading Challenges!! Have a wonderful week ♥
OOoh nice! I can’t wait to read Titans!! I’m a Titan Jockey, so I hope my copy comes soon! Can’t wait! Really need to read that last Dante book though too! So behind on all my reads lately!! Hope you enjoy your newest additions!
Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
THIRTEEN inches of snow!???! WOW. I wore flip flops and a t-shirt on Wednesday haha. On Thursday, I had to throw on a light hoodie 😉 (Both to Mockingjay, the only reasons putting on clothes is necessary, right?) But if you had snow… it is probably moving this way 🙁 Do. Not. Like.
But I DO love your idea about the blogoversaries and birthdays! That is SO AMAZING, and I would and will use that resource! AND the challenges one! You are pretty on the ball. Should I be concerned? 😉 No, seriously, these are AMAZING ideas!
And TITANNSSSSSSS. How and where did you get Titans? Because I clearly need to go stand outside of wherever that is until someone accidentally drops a copy 😉 Assassin’s Heart looks really good too. I looked up the other book on Goodreads, and now I am really curious about the whole series. I may have to grab book one!
And thanks for linking to my giveaways 😀
What a GREAT idea! I would love to know when everyone’s B-day and Blogoversary is! I am really curious to see what you think of Wolf by Wolf. I own an ARC that I won of that, but so many books too little time.
Excited for the list of blog challenges! And how nice to make a list of birthdays and blogoversaries too. That will be fun to see.
