Last week on FYFA (and in my life):
Well, it’s official – our Spanish exchange student Carmen has headed home. She was here for three weeks and we did so many amazing things. In my July wrap-up, I’ll share some pictures of our fun adventures!
Today, we sent my oldest off to Japanese immersion camp for two weeks. He is incredibly excited – right now he adores all things Japanese!
I’m hoping to have a bit more time to blog and visit the blogosphere in August, but I also have to prepare for my homeschool classes, which are starting soon – this has been one crazy summer! (As you can tell by the fact that my Sunday Post is going up so late.)
Here’s what you may have missed on the blog:

Japanese immersion camp sounds fun! And Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things is such a twisted title- I’ll have to go check that out. 🙂 I’ve been falling behind on discussions lately too- I need to think of some more topics!
Have a great week.
Ooh Japanese Immersion camp! I hope they have a ton of fun. Sorry to hear Carmen headed home, but it DOES sound like you all had a blast and did a lot of fun things!
-Lauren
I hope your son enjoys camp. I’d rather go back to Spain with Carmen; I haven’t been there since the early 90’s.
I’d love to go to Spain too. I’ve only been to Europe once, but we didn’t make it to Spain.
Busy summer, indeed. I hope you’ll have some free time soon.
I missed this post on Sunday! So glad your exchange student had a great time and that’s she’s back home safe. That’s a relief. 🙂 And how cool about the Japanese camp! I wish I had had a chance to do that as a kid. Of course, I’m going to Japan in two weeks and that’ll be immersive enough for me. 🙂
Yes, I guess going to Japan will be true immersion! I’m hoping that the camp is a great experience for Jaden – they have language teachers and lots of cultural stuff and all Japanese food – lots of fantastic new things for him to try!
Oh wow, I bet your son is going to have an amazing time. What a fun camp!
Good luck preparing for your home school classes! I can’t believe that school is right around the corner! 10 more days until my oldest starts Kindergarten ?, oh I’m not ready!
