Last week on FYFA (and in my life):
Yikes! Another Sunday Post going up really late. Oh well – I guess I should be happy I’m managing to get this up at all. School starts next week, which has most parent saying, “Yay!!” but since I homeschool, I’m thinking, “I’m not ready!” Luckily, only some of our homeschool co-op classes start next week, and we can ease our way into the other things. This year is going to be a lot more hectic with driving around because we’re attending co-op three days a week, and my son is (hopefully) going to be taking a class at the local college – so there’s just a lot of running. Still, I think it will be worth it for the great classes we’ll be able to participate in!
Other than that, we celebrated my husband’s 40th with family yesterday and then picked our son up from his Japanese immersion camp. Jaden LOVED the camp – sounds like it was a great experience for him! We’ve also been watching the Olympics A LOT this week! Lots of fun!

That’s great your son loved his camp! How fun! I’ve noticed there are a LOT of blogoversaries this month. I have mine and I STILL need to get a post or two up – I have a couple giveaways. haha 🙂

Good luck with homeschooling, and I’m glad your son enjoyed camp. Japanese immersion camp does sound fun.
Glad that camp went well. Good luck with all the running around, hopefully you have something good to listen to.
I have mixed feelings about school starting back up as well. Even though it seems like it would make my life easier, I dread school mornings. Getting myself and the kids ready means I get up earlier. I can no longer put that blog post together in the morning, so that means late nights for me too. Also, since my son will be taking online classes and being tutored (i just found that out) that means I have to be diligent about monitoring him.
I don’t know how you manage. You do so much with homeschooling your kids, I think it is awesome. You really are an inspiration to me.
I have 2 more weeks before school starts here. Fingers crossed that we can both get everything done. Have a great week!
I got Toward a Secret Sky as well! ANd now I’m off to check out all the giveaways you linked here! Have a great week! My Sunday Post is in the link below!
Heyyyya! Thanks again for the plug. 🙂 I was so lazy to do any of my updates and book haul posts this weekend, so I might have to copy your play book. Sigh. Anyway, happy reading, Nicole!
Good luck with school starting back up!! Glad your son had fun in camp!Enjoy your new book and have a great week!
I’ve been watching the Olympics like crazy too. Usaine Bolt absolutely slayed it, as usual 🙂 The gymnastics and swimming are my favourites. Glad your son enjoyed camp, but I think I can understand the school-is-coming-woes, even though I do have until September, thank goodness!

Yay! I’m so glad your son enjoyed his camp! It’s so cool that he got to go and really immerse himself in Japanese language. 🙂 I’m a big fan!
Japanese immersion camp sounds like it was awesome, Nicole! Japanese is one of the languages I would like to learn 🙂
I hope you’l get all your ducks in a row before school starts, and that your organization will make everything smooth and easy.
Happy b-day to your hubby.
You amaze me Nicole! I don’t think I’d have the patience to homeschool my kids. Well done my friend, and good luck to the new school year! Hope the hubby had a great 40th!
YAY! I’m so glad he had such a great time at camp! It sounds like it would be an amazing experience! And thank you for listing our Giveaways! We had a lot of fun coming up with the idea to make different lists of BBFs and to giveaway books that went away with each list. 🙂
