Last week on FYFA (and in my life):
This week was actually a lot less crazy. Nobody sick. Woo hoo! My older two kids had their first swim meet this weekend, which was lots of fun. It was nice to get this first meet experience under our belts so we’ll know a bit more what’s going on now.
Not too many posts up on the blog this week. I’m working on finishing up an edit, so I haven’t had a lot of extra time for blogging. But I did manage to get reviews for a few MG/younger YA reads up. Here’s what you may have missed:
- Time Traveling with a Hamster by Ross Welford – Review, Giveaway & Welford’s humorous list of Top Ten Addictions – Still time to enter to win a copy of the book!
- Bite-Sized Audiobook Reviews–Momotaro: Xander and the Lost Island of Monsters & Abducted: Escape From Kraile
Next week on FYFA:
- Bloodmark Saga Trilogy by Aurora Whittet – Series Spotlight & Whittet’s Top Ten Addictions – I’ve already reviewed the first two books in this trilogy on my blog, but I’m going to do a feature of the series next week and post a giveaway. Then I’ll be posting a review of the third book on November 3rd.
- Let’s Discuss: Something bookish! 🙂
Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries:
Two blogoversaries this week! Hope you’ll head over and wish these bloggers many more years of blogging joy! Also, check out the calendar to see what you might have just missed or what’s coming up. (If you want to be added to the calendar, you can always fill out the birthday/blogoversary form!)
- October 23rd – Paper Bindings‘ Blogoversary
- October 24th – Orandi et Legendi‘s Blogoversary
Won:
I won this YA prize pack from Sourcebooks Fire! Thanks so much!!
For Review:
Free:

Yay for nobody being sick! And I can’t wait to see what you think of The Lost Codex! I just got the first book to that series, and I was so excited to see the final book was releasing next month!
That series is amazing! I can’t wait to read the final book!!
The swim meet sounds fun and yay for everyone being healthy. I love that you celebrate blogoversaries and birthdays. Nice prize win too, I love Miranda Kenneally, her books are cute!
Miranda Kenneally is a favorite of mine too!
Congrats on winning that prize pack!! That’s super exciting! I love all the info you’ve compiled for your post, very helpful! Have a great week!
Thanks! I’m glad you find it helpful!! I do this compilation every week, so check back! 🙂
I found your blog via the Sunday Post feature from Caffeeinated Book Reviewer and followed you on Bloglovin. Dang, you’ve got a lot going on! I have seen many other bloggers getting The Lost Codex, so I may need to do the same. Have a wonderful week.
Hope you found something to love in the posts I featured here! I’m excited about reading The Lost Codex. It’s such a great series!

Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Yes, you definitely need to read it! It’s fantastic!
It’s always nice to get that first meet or game or whatever under your belt, get the jitters out and into the routine. I love that cover of the Amateurs (must be the purple, for some reason) and The Lost Codex looks promising too.
The meet went well (for a first meet). My son got disqualified on one of his races, but now he knows what not to do. 🙂
Good to hear everyone is healthy and the swimming is going “swimmingly!” LOL I couldn’t resist. Enjoy those lovely new reads and congrats on the winnings!
Haha! Feel free to pun away over here! 🙂
Glad to hear everyone’s well again and that your swim meet went well! And hey! Your link thing for posts is working again! Yay!
For the life of me, I can’t figure out CommentLuv. The link thing only seems to work half the time and it makes me crazy. But I haven’t found anything better either, so … Sigh.
Yay for nobody being sick! I really hope to avoid that this year. So far, so good. *knock on wood* haha I hope your editing project is going well! Thanks (again) for sharing all my HP giveaways. More to come! 🙂
-Lauren
You have so many Harry Potter giveaways going on over there and they’re all so cute! Happy to share!
Yay for everyone being in good health. The swim meet sounds fun. I’ve had my eye on until we meet again so I hope you enjoy it.
Have a wonderful week!
I actually just added Until We Meet Again to my giveaway/trade list because I realized I have two copies. You should head over to my September wrap-up round-up giveaway and enter for a chance to win it!
Good news that no one was sick and to get that first swim meet out of the way. I’m sure there are lots of ‘rules’ formal and informal that you need to be aware of!
Yep! My son actually got disqualified from one of the races because he didn’t know all the rules about his turns and such. We’re learning as we go! 🙂
Hooray for everyone being healthy! 🙂 Good to hear that the first swim meet went well, too.
I’ve read one by Miranda Kenneally before (Breathe, Annie, Breathe) and really enjoyed it. I’ve been meaning to read more from her ever since but just haven’t got to it yet. Maybe I should pick up Defending Taylor next. And I just recently downloaded Until We Meet Again. I’m excited for that one!
You should go check out my September Wrap-Up Round-Up giveaway. I’ve got a couple of Kenneally books on my giveaway/trade list!
Your posts are just packed with so much interesting and valuable information and links – wow!
I’m glad you find it helpful! Come join me next week and you’ll find more! 🙂
Looks like you got some awesome books this week. So nice to not have anyone sick for a change. I’m going to be doing less with commenting and such with NaNo next month. Hope you have a great week! You can check out my Sunday Post in the link below!
Ooh! Good luck with NaNo. I’ve been debating doing it this year, but I’m not sure if I feel prepared. I have a little less than a week to decide!
I cannot wait for Heartless! As always your weeks fascinate me! You really are super woman 🙂
Thanks so much for mentioning my post! 🙂
And yay for no one being ill this week!
