Last week on FYFA (and in my life):
First of all, happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there! I hope you get pampered today. Today is my daughter’s 13th birthday, so I’ve got another teenager in the house. Yikes! If I disappear, you can just assume I didn’t survive it.
I finished the first edit of the book I was working on and got it back to the author, so I’ll be back around the blogosphere a bit more this week!

Scholastic Warehouse Sale:
I volunteered at our local Scholastic Warehouse sale and earned free books! Yep, that’s right, I got all of these books for me and my kiddos for free for volunteering. I’d say that’s a pretty sweet deal. My kids picked out a lot of these, but I’m definitely excited about several of them, especially The Girl Who Drank the Moon, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Between Shades of Gray and The Scorpio Races.
Book Outlet Sale:
I also recently bought some books from the latest Book Outlet Sale. I bought all of these, plus a complete set of Goddess Girls books for my daughter for her birthday.
Won:
I won Arena and Gauntlet from the blog tour, which I found on It Starts at Midnight. Thanks so much to Ace Books!
For Review:
Star-Crossed looks like an adorable MG book and I’m excited to read The Best Kind of Magic (which takes place in my hometown—sort of—of Chicago). Watch for my reviews during the tours, which will be coming in a couple of weeks! Technically, I got Keeping Kinley because I voted for it on Kindle Scout, but I’m considering it a review book since I’ve reviewed the others in the series.

Happy Mother’s Day and happy birthday to your daughter!! Hope you both have an amazing day. So many books!!! Hope you enjoy the all. Have a great week!
I did get LOTS of books this week. Of course, I couldn’t resist the possibility of FREE books from Scholastic—my bookshelves can just collapse on me at any moment.
Happy birthday to your daughter, and happy Mother’s Day! Now that you have a teenager, I hope you have time to read all your new books.
Oh, I’ll make time. Well, let’s face it, I’ll probably never read ALL my books. But it’s fun to pretend it’ll happen someday. 🙂
Happy Mother’s Day and happy birthday to your daughter. I hope you have a wonderful time celebrating. Thanks to all the pre-order deals and giveaways. Enjoy your books and have a wonderful week. ?
Thanks so much! We had a wonderful day!
Dat haul!! Do you have a separate room for books? Cause it seems like you might need it 😀 awesome.
Also. You a BrodyBFF too 🙂 that’s great, I’ll go check it out!
Ha! My husband bought me three big bookshelves last Christmas and I promptly filled them—and now they’re overflowing. I try hard not to hoard (I do giveaways every month as part of my wrap-up round-up and I donate books when I have the opportunity), but I do still have a crazy number of books. My kids’ rooms are just as full of books, so … yeah, we have a lot.
I’m kind of starting to feel glad that the majority of my books is on the kindle 😀
Yep, there are definitely advantages to that!
Hey, I also voted for Keeping Kindley. Happy Mother’s Day! I’m reading One Good Thing About America today that I won from the book tour. It is so good.
Have you read the other books in Larsen’s series? I’ve really enjoyed them!
Happy Mothers Day!! Hope you have a great one. And nice book haul from Scholastic!
Arena and Gauntlet look great, and I love that cover of The Best Kind of Magic. Looks very summery. 🙂
I’m reading Best Kind of Magic right now and so far it’s really cute!
Oh happy days… with more teenagers in the house 🙂 I have less teenagers in the house this year, but will have one more again next year 😀
Your new books look so good! I loved The Scorpio Races, and I hope you will too. Being paid in books sounds heavenly.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.
Yes, I’m always happy to work for books! 🙂
Oh, that’s awesome! I haven’t read Scorpio Races but I’ve heard some pretty great things. Happy Mother’s Day to you, Nicole and a Happy Birthday to your daughter as well.
Have a great week!
I haven’t read Stiefvater yet, but I know everyone raves about her!
How wonderful. Truly a other’s day for you and Happy Birthday to your daughter. OMG! Look at all of those lovely books! Have fun reading them. I’m getting ready to start some edits soon. Waiting on the author to send a few pages as this is a deeper project and we’ll be working closely together. I’m excited!
My Sunday Post

So far, so good!
Happy Mother’s Day to you and happy birthday to your new teenager! I sincerely hope you survive. Lol.
I hope I do too!! And I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day as well!
Happy Birthday to your daughter and here’s hoping you had a wonderful Mother’s Day!
Wow, that’s amazing you got all of those books for volunteering! And I’ve never looked at Book Outlet. I will now, thanks for the heads up Nicole!
Hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day too! And yes, the Scholastic Warehouse sale is the perfect opportunity to earn lots of free books!!

I’m glad you love them because I definitely love sharing!!
I love that you picked up all the Unwind books! They’re my favourite YA series. They have some really interesting worldbuilding.
Pssst … here’s a secret … (I’m whispering right now, by the way) I actually already own all of the Unwind books. Signed copies, in fact. But I don’t own these matchy covers and it’s my favorites series of ever and … you get the idea.
Ahh, in that case, I’m glad to find a fellow fan! 😛 I totally understand that. I have three different cover designs among my copies and it drives my sister crazy. I still like the original design for Unwind best, though.
I’m not typically a collector, but I couldn’t resist this time.
Another hormonal teenager is the house… good luck with that. LOL Hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day, Nicole. I see that you bought a couple of the books from the Arcana Chronicles. I own the series and have been meaning to start it for ages. I’m a sucker for a good paranormal series so I don’t know why I keep putting it off.
I read the first two books in the Arcana Chronicles, but then never finished it. Because that’s my brand of craziness.
