Sunday Post: Book Pre-Order Campaigns & Giveaways Galore – 3/17/19

Posted March 17, 2019 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Sunday Post / 26 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

My MG bookcase is coming along very nicely. I still have some random books on the bottom shelf (and some adult classics on top, which will probably stay there), and I still have some more MG books floating around the house, but I’m pretty happy with the way this bookcase is turning out. Take a look:

More track meets this week. My daughter Danielle managed to get her PR in high jump at 4’5″ on Thursday. I’m kind of in awe of her–not because she’s a top athlete necessarily (she placed 5th at our conference meet for JV)–but because she goes out every day and does something that scares her. She’s actually really scared to jump backward over the bar at those heights and she has to force herself to do it, especially at practices. Same went for gymnastics–she had to constantly talk herself into jumping to the high bar or doing round-off flip-flop flip-flops. But where I would naturally just avoid something that scares me, she keeps doing it day after day after day. Especially for a kid who struggles with anxiety issues, I think that’s pretty impressive.

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

  1. The shelf looks great! Congratulations to your daughter! I remember learning how to jump hurdles in gym class, and I was terrified that I was going to wipe out. I’m not athletic at all. I never crashed into a hurdle, but a few of my classmates did.

  2. Loving the MG bookshelf! Looks great! I want to spend time organizing my shelves so bad, but since I’m hoping to move this summer, I’m making myself wait until then. Will they still be doing a giveaway for A Place for Wolves? I heard they’d pulled the publishing on it due to some controversy, the author pulled it supposedly. I still intend to read it though. I’ve included the link to my weekly giveaway below in case any one who reads this wants to enter! 🙂

  3. The MG shelf is coming up nicely!! And wow. Your daughter’s got guts! I (thankfully) was excused from doing those high jump things when they popped up in PE class. After having assorted leg surgeries and a back surgery throughout childhood, those kinds of things I can’t fathom doing. My body wouldn’t twist right!

I hope you enjoying your reading picks for this week!

  4. Your shelves are looking awesome! Kudos to your daughter for pushing past her fears. I wish I could say I was like that but I’m more likely to back away than force myself. Thanks for the blogoversary mention. I actually remembered on my own this year *before* seeing it here! LOL
