Last week on FYFA (and in my life):
Strangely, now that I’m back from vacation I have barely managed to blog! Part of the reason is that I finished up one editing project and started two others (and a proofread!) – and I think part of it is just that I’m having a hard time getting back to “regular” life. Anyone else ever have this problem?
Oh, and just so you all know, it looks like I’ll be reading Throne of Glass this month – that’s what won from my Top Ten Hyped Books I’ve Never Read post!
If you’re interested in reviewing Summer Haikus by S. J. Pajonas, let me know! It’s a contemporary New Adult romance set mostly in Japan (lots of Japanese culture mixed in!)
Here’s what you may have missed on the blog last week (not much, I know):
- Animal by Nikki Rae (review)
- Let’s Discuss – Editing in the Self-Publishing World
- Burn, Rewrite or Reread Tag
Next week on FYFA:
I’m going to try really hard to post more next week, but I do have a couple of rush editing jobs I’m working on, so we shall see!
- Get Even and Get Dirty by Gretchen McNeil (review)
- Monthly Wrap-Up Round Up Announcement
- Let’s Discuss – something 🙂

Oh you have a great haul this week!! I really think This is Where it Ends sounds great. Hope you enjoy them all!
It does sound really good. And I heard the author speak on a “We Need Diverse Books” panel at RT, so I’m eager to read one of her books!
I always feel like I need a vacation from vacation just to catch-up on “regular life”. Nice book haul, I really like the cover for Asunder and it looks pretty interesting too. Have a great week!
Exactly! There’s so much to catch up on!
It is hard to get back to your usual after a vacation or trip. I just want to veg out and do nothing, most times. I’m intrigued by the cover of This Is Where It Ends. Have a great week and I hope you get at least some “regular life” things done! 🙂
Yes, why oh why does regular life have to return after vacation. I just can’t do it! 🙂
I read Throne of Glass this past week. I hope you love it half as much as I did, that would still be a whole lot. I can’t wait to see what you think of The Heart of Betrayal. Happy reading!
Had to go look for your reviews of ToG and KoD – glad you loved them both!!!
So much Heart of Betrayal and Scorpion Rules this week! I really want to read SR so I am really excited to start reading everyone’s reviews. I also still need to pick up Kiss of Deception (because I am THAT late to the party!).
-Monica @ Tomes Project
No worries about being late to the party. Just check out my Top Ten Tuesday post about hyped books I haven’t yet read, and you’ll see I’ve been late to a lot of parties!
OOoh nice! I LOVED Heart of Betrayal! Though now I really want book 3! LOL! Hope you enjoy your new reads!!
Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I think I’m still playing catch up from vacation well. It hit this slump today where I just have no energy. Hopefully just laying low and napping helps a bit. Have a great week!
Slump seems to be a good word for me lately – at least when it comes to blogging. I just can’t seem to get my heart into it lately for some reason! I hope it passes soon!
Going any better this week?
Such an awesome haul. The Heart of Betrayal, Scorpion Rules, THis is Where It Ends, are all popular this week.
Grace @ Books of Love
Lots of people must have been like me – couldn’t resist them!
It really can be difficult to get into the groove of blogging after a break. I’m having some trouble this past week, and I don’t really know why! I guess just the summer heat and lots going on. I’m so worn out when I AM home. haha
-Lauren
p.s. I know I’m like ridiculously late on looking at the pages you sent me, but I really do want to work on my skills, so do you want me to still edit what you sent way back when or do you have something else you’d like me to look at?
No worries, Lauren! I know how things can get crazy and sometimes it gets hard to fit everything in! Not that it matters much, but I’ll send you a new sample – something that’s more in the forefront of my mind! 🙂
It’s hard getting back to work after being away for so long! I’m sure this week you’ll pick right back up again. Thanks for putting the word out for Summer Haikus! I appreciate it 🙂
Actually, I’ve been okay about actually “working” – it’s the blogging that’s felt like pulling teeth. I usually love it, but I’ve been in a bit of a slump here lately!
I hope you’ll enjoy your new books this week!
Happy reading. 🙂
Thanks! I’m pretty happy with this week’s selections!
I just got The Scorpion Rules and This Is Where It Ends as well. I am very excited to read those.
I couldn’t resist them – they both looked so good!
The blog will still be there!! Glad to see you are diving right back into work! Have a great week!
