Sunday Post: Book Pre-order Campaigns & Giveaways Galore – 9/22/19

Posted September 22, 2019 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Sunday Post / 26 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

The back yard is officially done!! And it is gorgeous! We’ve already had fires out there a few nights (and all fingers have remained intact, unlike what I reported in my last Sunday Post). Here’s a picture (taken from our upstairs bathroom). I might try to include a few more pics in my month wrap-up as well (since you can’t see everything from this one, but it’s rainy and I can’t take more right now).

I sang for the first time on our church’s worship team this weekend. (Which is why this is getting posted a bit late this week.) My husband was drumming, and my daughter was singing too, so it was great to do it as a family!

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries:

Birthday-150 Blogoversary-150x150

Here are the birthdays and blogoversaries for this week! I hope you’ll go wish these bloggers well on their special days! Make sure you check out the calendar to see what you might have just missed or what’s coming up. (If you want to be added to the calendar, it’s easy! Just fill out the birthday/blogoversary form.)

Book Haul:

For Review:

I got Sulwe in the mail and was so entranced, I decided to post my review right away (it already went up Friday, so check it out!) The book is written by Lupita Nyong’o and illustrated by Vashti Harrison. This book was a super fun surprise, so thanks to Simon & Schuster Kids!

Confession: When I saw another surprise book on my stoop this week, I thought, Oh no, another review book when I’m so close to being caught up. And then I saw that it’s a Jason Reynolds book and I thought, YES! Another review book. Perfect!
LOL! Thank you again, Simon & Schuster for Look Both Ways! (The cover and illustrations are thanks to Alexander Nabaum.)

Won:

I won Wires & Nerve Volume 2 from Kathryn @ Book Date from the Connect 5 Challenge! Woo hoo!! Thank you, Kathryn (and thank you, especially, for going out of your way to change my order after I first asked for Volume 1—and then realized I’d already bought it!)

Great Discussions/Goings On Around the Blogosphere:

  • Lauren @ Bookmark Lit is hosting a #READFORGRACE event in honor of Grace @ Rebel Mommy Book Blog

  1. Your back yard looks beautiful and the trees on the boundary are so nice and lush. Must give you a lot of privacy back there. Love a night by the fire sipping wine. Enjoy! 🙂

    • Yes, we back up to a wetland preserve (with a wooded area directly behind our house), so that’s always been very nice. We get deer out there a lot and sometimes other critters too. (Actually, there are coyotes too, but we’ve only actually seen them once—we sure do hear them howling sometimes, though).

  2. Hey the backyard looks great! Congrats on having that done. Looks like a cozy fire area too. 🙂 Nothing like a nice fire in the backyard for relaxing.

  3. Oh my god, your backyard looks amazing. I want something like that! LOL Thanks for sharing about the #ReadForGrace event – I know Lauren had mentioned it, but I’m off to check out all the details.

    • Oh. My. Goodness. I’m so embarrassed—I did a search and figured out that I somehow switched this from “Lisa Loves Literature” to “Lisa @ Lost in Literature” at the end of JULY!! I don’t know if you remember this, but when you were first my secret sister, I always mixed up the two blog names in my head. Well, apparently in July I regressed and somehow did it again, even though I don’t even think that other Lisa has been blogging for years! And from then on, I just blithely changed the url every week and left the name that way in my post without ever noticing—for the past two months. (Sometimes I even had you in a single Sunday Post twice – once with your real blog name for something else and once for this giveaway with the messed up name.) Guess I’d better read my own posts a little better. LOL! (Sorry, by the way!)
