Sunday Post: Book Pre-order Campaigns & Giveaways Galore – 7/19/20

July 19, 2020 Sunday Post 13

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

  • We watched:
    • My daughter Danielle and I finished season three of The 100 last night. We’re catching up!
  • We bought a new (used) dining table and chairs. We got a beautiful cherry dining room set, but the top has some scratches that we’ll need to fix, so we’ve been experimenting with one of the leaves to figure out the best way to do it.
  • My daughter painted a couple more masks. She did a logo for a friend of mine (her first paid mask!) and a butterfly for my mom, and she finished the anime one for Jade (apparently these characters are called Filo and Raphtalia from Rising of the Shield Hero). Here’s a pic of that one and the butterfly:

  • Reading
    • I finished reading The Elephant’s Girl and also read Secrets of Storytelling: A Creative Writing Workbook for Kids.
    • I’m listening to Divided We Fall via audiobook.
    • I got auto-approved for Macmillan Audio on NetGalley, so I’m looking forward to listening to their audiobooks. Has anyone been listening using the new NetGalley Shelf app yet? I’m about to try it, and I’m hoping it works as well as Hoopla, Libby and Audible do.
  • Blogging. I only got one post up, but I did manage to catch up a little bit on replying to comments and commenting back. (I still have almost 75 un-replied comments, though. Yikes!!)
  • Digit! As always, the new little fluff is keeping me busy. Lately, he has all sorts of added ear-expressions to go with his facial expressions. Half the time he ends up with one ear sticking straight up. It’s pretty adorable:

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

Cute masks! Your daughter is very talented. I need more masks. I only bought 1 because I didn’t know I’d be wearing it for this long. Congrats on getting auto-approved! Have a good week.

The masks are amazing – your daughter is definitely talented, and that’s awesome she got paid to make one!! Yay for getting some reading done last week. I feel like I’m always behind on SOMETHING when it comes to blogging these days, but we’re all doing our best, right? It’s weird weird times. LOL

Love all the Digit photos. He’s such a cutie – love his ears!

I like when I got to the end of your post and squealed. Your dog is too cute. Congratulations to your daughter on some commissions. That’s wonderful and so is her art.

Congrats on the new furniture. We’ve been considering updating our dining room, too. Your daughter’s artwork is just so good! That’s awesome that she got paid for her work. 🙂
