- AMM Announcements were made! Megan and I announced that we’ll be mentoring Anne Rellihan on her MG contemporary COUNTING BACKWARD. We love this book and are so excited to be working with Anne on it. Here’s the Twitter announcement with the aesthetic I made!
It’s time! @meganefreeman and I are delighted to announce we will be mentoring @AnneRellihan. Her #MG mss COUNTING BACKWARD is a heartwarming story of friendship, growing up, and finding hope, with a dash of HARRIET THE SPY & LOUISIANA’S WAY HOME thrown in for good measure. #AMM pic.twitter.com/aET4zVlaqJ

- What I Read:
- I read Harriet the Spy since it’s referenced in my mentee’s book.
- I also started reading my mentee’s manuscript so we can give our official edit letter, and read part of my co-mentor Megan’s latest manuscript so I could give her comments as well!
- TV We Watched:
- Supernatural. We’re watching season 9 of Supernatural (fallen angels, anyone?). I’m loving Cass this season.
- 24. We watched season 1 of 24. I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since this show aired! It sure brings back memories.
- Agility Training: The class went really well this week. And since Danielle did most of the runs with Digit, I got some videos!

Love all your giveaways! How did you like Harriet the Spy? I loved it as a kid and I reread it for a library challenge last year. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I sort of opened a can of worms by mentioning Harriet the Spy because (whispers…) I actually didn’t like it very much. I know this is a much-loved book, but I just could not get past how unlikable and mean-spirited Harriet is. And the message at the end of the book is just that she should … lie more? I don’t know, I honestly struggled with it. But I don’t knock anyone else for loving it.
Oh wow, I remember Harriet the Spy from Nickelodeon. The videos of Digit were awesome! Have a great week!
I never saw the Nickelodeon version, but I’ll bet it was fun.
I love the look of your books and your videos. Thanks for sharing, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES
Happy Anniversary, Jan 28 was my blog! Our blogs are the same age! 🙂
I think I remember that from a past year, actually! You should fill out my birthday/blogoversary form so I’ll remember to congratulate you every year. 🙂
Aww, who’s a good boy! Great videos. Your mentee’s book sounds fabulous. I always loved Harriet.
I’m glad I finally have some videos to show of the agility class. Of course, it doesn’t look like much yet, but he’s doing great for so early (we have other dogs to compare him to, so that helps us know how he’s doing. 🙂 )
So fun that you get to mentor someone! Her book sounds like a great it has a great premise.
I’m very excited about this mentorship. I think Anne is fabulous, and she’ll go far with her book!
Digit did so well with those jumps! My dogs always went around them. Good luck with the mentee! Have a great week.
If you look closely, you’ll actually see that he DID go around the final one in the second video. LOL! Pretty much every dog in the class did it sometimes because they’re just getting the hang of it. But he’s doing so good overall, and he seems to love it!
COUNTING BACKWARD sounds fantastic! Love the “Dark Academia” + “celestial” Aesthetics!
Happy Blogoversary!
Enjoy your books and have a great week!
I have my original paperback copies of Harriet the Spy and The Long Secret from my childhood, ordering from the Weekly Reader. They are some of the maybe 50 books I have hauled around with me for over 40 years. It sounds like you are energized and excited. Enjoy!
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
I love that you still have some of your cherished books. My dad threw away a box of mine many years ago—I was so sad!
Happy blogoversary! Harriet the Spy is a wonderful book and Cass from Supernatural ???. I already miss that show and it just ended. Have a wonderful week!
I am so glad you and Megan will be mentoring mentoring Anne Rellihan. COUNTING BACKWARD sounds like a lot of fun. I’ve been considering re-watching 24. I noticed there is a reboot of the show the other day and wondered if that had the same magic as the original series did. I hope you have a great week, Nicole!
I actually didn’t realize that there’s a reboot of 24. I’ll have to look into that!
I love the new set up you made for preorders and how you announce only new ones on Sundays!
I think this makes it much easier to see the new entries. Plus, this way the books are all featured more prominently on the main page, so I think it’s a win/win! Thanks for stopping by!
I hope the mentoring goes well! That must be so exciting… :):)
I’ve always wanted to read Harriet the Spy! Congrats to your mentee. 🙂
-Lauren
I love those videos of Digit! He’s such a good boy. <3 Congrats on your mentee for AMM!
Your blog is what inspired me to include puppy pics (and videos) on mine. I always love seeing your Lulu pics!!
Having a dog is fun. My dog is almost 7 years old now.
I love the video of your daughter and Digit, they’re doing so great! And congratulations again for who you’ll be mentoring! Such a lucky person ♥.
I need to catch up and finish up Supernatural. I don’t want it to end so I’ve been stalling on finishing! Dean is my man <3
Happy Blogoversary ?
Looks like Digit has finally got the hang of things at Agility training.
Wishing you a great reading week
Ooh, Harriet the Spy was one of my favorite books as a kid. I reread it so much that it was tattered and falling apart. Sounds like a great book that you get to help out with!
Happy 8th blogoversary! That’s so exciting! I love your puppy video! How fun!
Happy Blogiversary! I’ll be checking out your giveaway. 😉
I have never read Harriet the Spy. It don’t think it was translated here (in the Netherlands). I’ll be checking it out though since everyone here seems to be in awe of it.
Have a great week and happy reading.
I hope the mentoring goes well and continued happy reading, Nicole ?
