The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
- Writing: Still working hard on my latest draft! I have promised myself I will get it to my critique partners by the beginning of October, so I need to keep going!
- Shopping for homecoming dresses/suits and family picture outfits. I spent an inordinate amount of time this week looking at clothes online. We ordered a dress for Danielle and got a suit for Noah at a local store. We’re still working on shoes for Danielle. And we’re doing family photos (and Danielle’s senior pictures) next month, so I’ve also been looking at tons of options for that.
- What I Read:
- I read The Woods are Always Watching by Stephanie Perkins and started reading Pie in the Sky by Remy Lai.
- I continued listening to Shatter the Sky by Rebecca Kim Wells.
- TV We Watched:
- We finished watching Supernatural! We finished entire series!! I was pretty happy with the way they wrapped things up in the final two episodes—definitely bittersweet in some ways, but that seems fitting for this show.
Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:
- I didn’t manage to post this week, and as you can see, I’m barely getting this post up actually on Sunday!

You can totally get your draft finished for October, just keep going! It sounds exhausting trying to sort clothes for your kids for homecoming, but at least you’ve mostly got it all sorted. And you finished Supernatural? I know how the series ends but could never make it through all of the seasons of the show!
Didn’t the kids just start back at school? I assumed homecoming was an end of school year thing, though it doesn’t hurt to be prepared obviously.
Wishing you a great reading week
Homecoming is at the beginning of the school year (the name comes from “coming home” back to school). But Prom is at the end of the school year, which is probably what you’re thinking of!
Ahh thanks Nicole, I figured they were the same thing.
Good luck gettng your draft done to submit to your critique partners. You can do it. I’m moving along in the last act of my manuscript. Thanks for including my giveaways in your list.
Ooh, good work on your manuscript! May I ask what you’re working on? I knew you have lots of query giveaways etc. on your blog, but I didn’t know that you were writing right now. Always love to support my fellow writers in their quest to finish those books! 🙂
I’m working on a YA fantasy set in our world and an alternate one. Yes, we writers have to support each other. I’m not sure what you’re writing but FYI some of the MG & YA agents I feature also represent adult. I hope you’ll enter some of my query critique contests when you’re ready to query.
I love seeing all the query critique giveaways on your blog. Thanks for setting those up! I’m actually already agented, but we haven’t had luck selling book #1, so I’m diligently working on the next one, a MG fantasy retelling in verse (yep, I’m crazy). Good luck with the last act of your MS!
I hope you are able to finish your writing even with the normal family activities and errands. I wear my clothes until they fall apart. I’m not really a big fan of shopping, especially shoe shopping.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Hope you hit your deadline with your draft. You can do it! Way to go, mom! Dress and a suit. I remember prom dress shopping with the kid. It was exhausting.
I really want to read The Woods are Always Watching. I’m excited for the movie version of There’s Someone Inside Your House.
