Sunday Post header

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

You may have noticed I’ve been missing for a little while. I didn’t even put up a Sunday Post last week—I’ve only missed a few of those in the past several years! I was so close to finishing the latest draft of my book to send to critique partners, and I just needed to focus on that for the week. I decided not to touch the blog at all until I was done.

And, well, here I am, which means … I finished the draft! It’s been sent off to critique partners, which is quite a relief.

  • What I Read:
    • I read Frankie & Bug by Gayle Forman.
    • I’m still listening to The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins.

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries:

Happy birthday graphic Happy blogoversary graphic

Here are the birthdays and blogoversaries for this week! I hope you’ll go wish these bloggers well on their special days! Make sure you check out the calendar to see what you might have just missed or what’s coming up. (If you want to be added to the calendar, it’s easy! Just fill out the birthday/blogoversary form.

I didn’t put up a Sunday Post last week.  So I’m including last week’s special days and this week’s.

Book Haul:

For Review:

I signed up for the blog tour for Tristan Strong Keeps Punching by Kwame Mbalia. Thanks, Rock Star Book Tours and Rick Riordan Presents for the review copy!

Purchased:

Since I’m judging the Poetry category for the Cybils Awards this year, I decided to buy myself a copy of Starfish by Lisa Fipps. I’ve been meaning to read this book for forever!

Great Discussions/Goings On Around the Blogosphere:

  • I’ve been terrible about reading discussions lately, but now that I’m finished with my draft, I should have time to read everything that’s been linked up to the Discussion Challenge.

  1. Yay for getting your draft finished! So exciting! I am still debating on what I am going to write for NaNoWriMo. I should probably just work on finishing something I’ve started. But I also kind of want to use stuff I’ve gotten from writing conferences and books I’ve been reading and try starting out something new. Hope it all gets through your critique partners quickly and you get a lot from it! I did notice you were MIA for a while as well.

  2. *CELEBRATE* Congratulations on finishing your draft. THIS IS SO EXCITING! Thanks for the birthday wishes. Much appreciated. I have wanted to read Starfish for a while too. Sounds fabulous.

    • I hope you had a fabulous birthday! (When I saw that it was you and Shannon that I missed last week, I thought, “Oh no! Of all the weeks to miss out on celebrating, it had to be the week that two of my very best blogger friends had special days!” HAD to make sure to get a shout-out in for you.)

  3. Congrats on finishing your draft. Sometimes you just have to focus on that. I really liked Starfish! Hope you do too! Thanks for the shout out about my giveaways. Natalie @ Literary Rambles
