Sunday Post header

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

  • COVID in the house. Jade was supposed to have a routine procedure this week but ended up testing positive for COVID. so we had to reschedule. And, of course, the rest of us were paranoid that we might have it too since Jade has nothing but a slightly scratchy throat (and it’s so dry that we’ve all had a scratchy throat for quite some time). We all got negative PCRs, so I guess we’re in the clear (though, weirdly, I did have a slight fever last night). The weirdest thing is that my mom didn’t come over this weekend—she hasn’t missed a weekend with us since quarantine.
  • What I Read
    • I finished reading In Every Generation by Kendare Blake and then read Barefoot Dreams of Petra Luna by Alda P. Dobbs, Amari and the Night Brothers by B.B. Alston, and the graphic novel How to Be Ace: A Memoir of Growing Up Asexual by Rebecca Burgess.
    • I continued listening to The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by Victoria Schwab. (It’s a long one, and I don’t often have long drives like I used to, so it takes me longer to listen to audiobooks nowadays.)
  • What I Watched:
    • Danielle and I are watching season 2 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I’ve got her hooked—yay!!
    • I’m still watching random seasons of The Great British Baking Show.

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

  1. Sorry to hear about the Covid, glad it’s not really bad. I did hear that some PCR tests weren’t accurate unless the throat was swabbed as well as the nose. I don’t drive around much at all these days as we are staying home. But I get my audiobook time in while cleaning, cooking, creating post setups, and walking Lulu.

  2. Sorry Jade got COVID and you couldn’t see your mom. Mine lives in assisted living, and it’s been closing some because of COVID outbreaks. I go there as much as I can when I can because she has to stay in her little studio apartment all the time right now. Glad I can still see her.

I loved Barefoot Dreams of Petra Luna and Amari and the Nightbrothers. Hope you did too. Thanks so much for listing my giveaways. Natalie @ Literary Rambles

  3. My stepdad had a similiar thing with a sore throat and a headache before testing positive. His symptoms have since worsened into being basically like a cold so I hope Jade’s symptoms have stayed mild. I definitely think this new variant of covid has changed the symptoms so it’s made me paranoid about every cough and sneeze. I still find it so weird Great British Bake Off is The Great British Baking Show in the US. It’s such an easy show to watch, though. I love rewatching as it’s so chill.

  4. ugh, so sorry about the Covid! I have headaches all the time, but this week had a bit of a scratchy throat and I think my dizziness was back. So I got a test, fortunately it was negative. That’s the problem, I’ll probably always be paranoid now. The only people I’ve been around that I know of are kids that are sent home to quarantine at school, and they are wearing masks, as I am as well. So who knows! After reading In Every Generation I keep telling myself I need to go back and rewatch the whole series again. But maybe after I rewatch Stranger Things. Have a good week and I hope everyone gets to feeling better!
