The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
- Oops! I forgot to update this section (and the books I read). If you already saw my Sunday Post, sorry. Apparently, I just completely ignored this top section when I updated the post this week? And I just noticed now. (At 2:30 in the afternoon.) Yikes!
- What I Read
- I finished reading Girl Giant and the Monkey King by Van Hoang. Then I read When Stars Are Scattered by Victoria Jamieson, Daughters of Jubilation by Kara Lee Corthron, Ada Twist and the Perilous Pants by Andrea Beaty, and Home Sweet Motel by Chris Grabenstein. After that, I started the sequel to that last book, Beach Party Surf Monkey.
- I finished listening to The Truth Project by Dante Medema and started listening to Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech.
- What I Watched:
- We’ve been watching most of the Winter Olympics. Well, okay, I scan through a lot—but there are parts of it I really love!
- Danielle and I are still watching season 3 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
- My mom and I continued watching Lost in Space (we’re on season 2 now). This show is sometimes beyond ridiculous, but it’s still entertaining.
- Then, for a little, change of pace, my mom and I started watching Locke and Key. I’m loving it so far – very mysterious and creepy!
Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

NetGalley/Edelweiss:
Okay, a couple more since last week. Thank you, publishers, for these great books. All of these are authors I already know I love and I can’t wait to read their upcoming releases!
- The Ogress and the Orphans by Kelly Barnhill. (I couldn’t find the info on the cover artist for this one.)
- Ellen Outside the Lines by A.J. Sass. Cover illustration is by Ana Hinojosa.
- Year on Fire by Julie Buxbaum.
For Review:
Very excited to read this timely book about being Asian American during COVID, New From Here by Kelly Yang. This adorable cover was created by Maike Plenzke. Thanks, Simon & Schuster!
Purchased:
I listened to Coyote Sunrise and loved it so much I just had to buy a copy. And then, of course, I needed to earn free shipping, so I got a few (okay, seven) friends to keep the first book company.
Won:
I won Lemon Drop Falls from Kidlit 411 (and author, Heather Clark). Thank you!!
Great Discussions/Goings On Around the Blogosphere:

I’ve been playing catch up with the Winter Olympics. So much happens that I feel so behind!
I’ve watched it all after the fact, but it’s still fun to see. (I generally try to watch it the day after, so I can scan through some things I don’t care to see.)
Are you watching the original Lost in Space? I know there was a re-boot. Coyote was so special. My heart ached for that family. I was devastated when I got the full story.
I’m watching the reboot. We’re definitely enjoying it, though it is pretty ridiculous sometimes. Oh, and sorry I forgot to update the very top of this message this morning. It obviously wasn’t my birthday again this week. 🙂 (I finally just updated it now.)
I really liked Lost in Space. I think this last season was my favorite so far.
We’re only on season 2, but it’s been really interesting!
I never watched Lost in Space. I have a hard time getting into “space” entertainment apparently, be it movies, TV, or books! Lol. Books are a little easier for me to enjoy it seems. Lol.
Nice new reads! Those are all new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I’m glad the Olympics is ending as much as I enjoy it to free up my time. My daughter loves the Sharon Creech books.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Nice haul!
I hope they are all enjoyable.

I still haven’t convinced my daughter to watch Buffy with me 🙁
Wishing you a great reading week
I love Locke & Key. I watched season 1 again before I watched season 2. And I have an ARC of New From Here that I hope I get to soon. Natalie @ Literary Rambles
Walk Two Moons was one of my favorite books as a kid. I still have my childhood copy somewhere. I loved Locke & Key. I tried to get my parents to watch it, but so far, they won’t. 🙁
OMG, not updating a section of a blog post is something I always dread because it’s so easy to do. And someone told me to check out Lost in Space, since you’re on season 2 I take it you’re enjoying it? i might have to check it out.
Great haul! Girl Giant and the Monkey King is on my TBR—it looks so good!
Lost in Space was fun and ridiculous all the way to the end. 🙂 And I see Yoshi on your shelf! I named my car Yoshi. Lol.
I love the graphic novel series Locke and Key – highly recommend if you haven’t read them. 🙂
the Olympics were fun
