The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
- Busy? I felt really busy this week, but I’m not sure what I actually did? Yesterday, Danielle had a track meet and then my husband and I went to a retirement party for one of his old bosses. Then, I served in church this morning, so I didn’t really have much time to write this post. Expect an abbreviated version…
- Today, we’re headed out to Iowa State. This is the third college visit we have scheduled (we’ve got three more scheduled next month and still plan to schedule two more. Yikes!) The last once helped Danielle feel like she was more sure about Purdue, so that’s good. We’ll see what happens after these other visits.
- What I Read
- I finished reading Beach Party Surf Monkey by Chris Grabenstein and then followed it up with Beach Battle Blowout in that same series. I then read Werewolf Weekend by B.A. Frade and Stacia Deutsch.
- I finished listening to Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech and then listened to Recommended for You by Laura Silverman. I then started listening to When We Were Magic by Sarah Gailey.
- What I Watched:
- I pretty much only watched mindless TV this week. Some episodes of Cheer and that other cheerleading show I can’t think of the name of, and then a silly thrift shop show called Swap Shop, which seems to consist of a lot of people buying stuff so they can sell it to other people who buy it to sell to other people.

Purdue is a great school. I have few relatives that went there. Walk Two Moons was heartbreaking. Sharon Creech delivering the pain to me once again with that book.
I liked Iowa State but they didn’t have programs I preferred. One of my friends went to Purdue and now her son is at Purdue.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Sounds like you had a busy week to me! This week was slow for me, I was trapped in the house for four days because we got an ice storm that really messed up the roads.
Busy week for sure! All the little things add up even if you don’t think of them as something on your to-do list. I loved Recommended for You and When We Were Magic was good too! Hope you have a good week. College visits are exciting! Hope you’re enjoying them too.
Yeah I felt like finding the right universities to attend was a bit challenging for me back then too. I knew I didn’t want to attend our local state university as sooo many people attend it, the campus was huge, the classes were huge and I just didn’t feel like it was the right fit for me. My sister and older cousins attended and I visited when I was still in high school and I was able to at least narrow down one place not to apply! Lol. I was happy with my choice in a smaller, private university. It was definitely the right fit for me back then…and I’d still say the same thing now too!
Yay for not adding to the TBR pile! I didn’t add too much myself, a few collectors and a few new reads…I think just 3 in the end, Lol!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Good luck with the college visit! I think I’ve said before that I went to 4 colleges and didn’t hate any of them, so I’m sure Danielle will find a good one.
College visits are a ton of work! I’m not looking forward to it. 🙂
I feel you on the busy thing. Lately I have felt like I’m always busy yet I can rarely point to why I feel that way. Here’s hoping for some breathing space sometime soon!
I hope you have a good time on your college trip.
“a silly thrift shop show called Swap Shop, which seems to consist of a lot of people buying stuff so they can sell it to other people who buy it to sell to other people.”
🤔😂
The college hunt sounds exhausting! I hope Danielle will find a good match…soon.
Thanks for including me! <3
Swap Shop sounds fun
