The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
Honestly, this week I’ve mostly been basking in the congratulations that have been rolling in for my MG book deal. I honestly underestimated how exciting it would be to make the actual announcement and share it with all my bookish friends. Thank you to everyone who has showered me with love–it means more to me than I could ever tell!
Also, my daughter has had a couple of really solid positive mental health weeks, and the intensive outpatient program she’s in has been helpful. Finding this place was difficult, but it has turned out to be very worth it!
What I Read This Week:
- I’ve continued reading Cantor’s Dilemma by Carl Djerassi and The Girl in White by Lindsay Currie.
- I finished reading One Girl in All the World by Kendare Blake. You can check out my review here (along with Kendare’s highly amusing list of Top Ten Addictions).
- I’ve also been reading picture books at B&N sometimes so that I can give customers better recommendations. I’ll probably feature my favorites on the blog at some point.
- I finished listening to Little Thieves by Margaret Owen. It was nice to listen on a long drive–made me want to keep going once I got home!
What I Watched:
- I started watching That 90’s Show. It fills me with nostalgia for the original, but I also think it stands pretty well on its own.
- I also watched the first episode of The Last of Us. Whoa, this series is intense!
Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:
- MULTICULTURAL CHILDREN’S BOOK DAY! WHERE WE COME FROM BY DIANE WILSON, SUN YUNG SHIN, SHANNON GIBNEY, AND JOHN COY, ILLUSTRATED BY DION MBD
- ONE GIRL IN ALL THE WORLD BY KENDARE BLAKE: REVIEW, GIVEAWAY, & KENDARE’S TOP TEN ADDICTIONS!
- JANUARY 2023 MONTHLY WRAP-UP ROUND-UP LINK-UP AND GIVEAWAY

I’ve officially decided to take the giveaways section out of my Sunday Post. It’s just been too hard for me to keep up with along with the pre-order campaigns, and I feel like the pre-order section is more valuable, so I’m going to focus on that. Many of the giveaways I featured were links to sites that host them all the time, so feel free to check an older Sunday Post for links to those. I hope you’ve found out about some great giveaways here over the years!
Lots of good stuff! Have any news? Feel free to share in the comments!
I’m glad your daughter is doing well. I hope you have a great week!
It is challenging to find the right team/dr./program. I am so happy to hear things are improving for your daughter. And, heck, your news was so exciting for us all.
That’s amazing about your MG novel! Congratulations!!
Glad to hear things are going in the right direction for your daughter!
Your book news was awesome. I think having followed your blog for so long that it was extra awesome for your bookish peeps to see it manifest!
The Last Of Us freaks me out… I’ve hated the zombie ant fungus ever since I found out about how it hijacks ants! Extrapolating that to a mutant form that takes over humans? Nope! Gives me major skin crawly creeps so I’m out! lol
Well you can bask in all the bliss Nicole! And it’s grea news for your daughter!
I’m glad you are having such great things happening including your daughter is doing better. Happy blogoversary!
Congratulations (again!) on your book deal! I think that’s so awesome, and I’m looking forward to reading your book when it comes out. And that’s wonderful news about your daughter, too.
Congrats on the book deal. So happy to hear your daughter is doing well.
Happy Blogoversary! Hope you have a great week!
Happy blogaversary!! And I’m glad the treatment program is helping your daughter. We need more mental health options for people!
I’m a huge Buffy fan so it’s almost a crime that I haven’t read One Girl in All The World yet. I definitely will pick it up soon.
Hope you enjoy reading this week.
My Sunday Post.
It’s one good thing after another, at last! Really glad to hear your daughter found the right place, after so many false starts. Oh, and happy blogoversary!
The second episode of The Last of Us definitely sold me on it. I won’t be able to watch the third episode tonight most likely because my Chiefs will still be playing, so I’ll catch up on it tomorrow! And you should continue to bask in the celebration of your book! And please share the whole publishing process, what you can, with us as you go along!
Just want to say congrats again on your book deal! That is freaking amazing!! And Happy early Blogoversary! That 90s Show was really good! I binged that on its first drop day! Very nostalgic for the original show and I loved that it was 90s since I could follow along with the “current” trends and jokes. Lol. Hope you enjoy the rest!
Yay for not adding to the TBR pile! I felt like I didn’t do too bad since I read one of my hauled books already! Lol.
Happy Reading!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I’m so happy for you, I know from things you’ve posted in the past how long and hard you’ve worked for this, so yay. 🙂
The Last of Us IS intense!
I’m glad your daughter is getting better and found a place that is helpful.
Enjoy the announcement-phase of being a published author. I’m so excited for you. And I’m glad your daughter is doing better.
I totally LOVED That 70s Show but… that was back when I didn’t mind canned laugh tracks on sit-coms. I tried watching a couple of the 90s Show but I’m afraid it just fell flat for me. The canned laughter bothered me, and while it was nice to see some of the old faces, the rest was just… well… sad, I’m afraid. I won’t be watching more. I see they’re also rebooting Night Court and yet again, they’ve added a laugh track. Nope… no thank you.
Congratulations again! Super happy for you. Also, I’m glad your daughter is having some better mental health days. That’s really encouraging.
