The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
What’s been happening since my last Sunday Post:
Thinking about book covers! This week I’ve been working on cover notes for THE SONG OF ORPHAN’S GARDEN so I could send them off to my editor. There are so many middle grade covers that I adore, so this was a very fun assignment. It’s so exciting to think about what my own cover will someday look like!
Notes from a sensitivity reader. I got some great notes from a sensitivity reader for my book as well. I haven’t started working on edits from this feeback yet, but I’ve been thinking about them!
Visiting Danielle at Purdue. Since I wasn’t able to go with when my husband and mom drove Danielle to school, I went to visit her and see her dorm (and bring her some additional stuff for the room).
What I Read:
Not much reading this week. I was busy with writing tasks, working at the bookstore, and visiting Purdue!
- I read A Baker’s Guide to Robber Pie by Caitlin Sangster. I got a copy of this lovely imaginative fantasy from my editor as a gift when I signed with Feiwel & Friends, and it makes me feel privileged to be in such incredible company!
What I Watched:
- I’ve still been on my Survivor kick. I’ve watched way too much of it. 🙂
Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

I hope you had a lovely visit with your daughter. A little road trip can be fun. Enjoy all the cover research and good luck with the edits.
Glad you’re getting to give so much input into your cover. I hope you enjoy every part of the process.
Yeah, I was excited when I found out I’d get input into the cover because I wasn’t sure how that would work. A cover is SO important!
You had a full and productive week with writing, working and visiting.
Oh nice! I’ve always been intrigued with the cover process when it comes to books! Hope you get a gorgeous one!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Looking at book covers sounds like fun! I hope you get to choose one that you love. Have a great week!
Sangster’s book looks fun, what a nice gift!
Curious to see what your cover will be! Congratulation on writing a book.
Have a great week!

It must be so exciting to be thinking about the cover and working your way through sensitivity edits! And it’s fun for this hopeful-writer-to-be to watch you go through the publication process.
How nice to go and visit your daughter at school. I’m sure she appreciated getting some things from home as well! Have a great week!
I had a mother daughter weekend this past weekend and it was nice! I am so ready for the new season of Survivor to start this month I think. And I’m still loving hearing all about your book publishing journey, thank you for sharing that!
Happy Reading and have a great week! 🙂
That is exciting about the book covers. I was hooked on Survivor for years but it’s been a while since I watched it. Happy reading this week!
And covers are so important on a book! I hope you’ll get the best one!
My husband moved our daughter into her apartment in Ohio and I really feel like I need to sneak away to visit sometime soon.
I hope your daughter is settling in well and that you had a nice visit with her! I love book covers. While they aren’t a reason I will for sure read a book, they certainly make a difference sometimes in whether I take a closer look. Gosh, I haven’t thought of Survivor in years . . . I watched the first couple seasons but that was it. I hope you have a great weekend and week ahead!
