This was my first Holly Black book, and I’m starting to see what all the fuss is about. Black has an amazing ability to create a fantastical world and tie it into our own – I loved how the fae world collided with the “real” world in this book! My Goings On in December: I started freelance editing for Booktrope. I’m really excited to work with them and to try out this new publishing model. I started working on two new editing projects. This second book in the Splintered Trilogy once again proved how incredibly imaginative Howard is. I just love her twisted take on Wonderland and the creatures in it! What I enjoyed: Wonderland creatures. As in Splintered, the best things about this book are all the nods to Wonderland.
