Last week on FYFA (and in my life):
Ah, see things are pretty much back to normal here at FYFA. I won NaNoWriMo on Sunday, which was incredibly exciting!! Now I just need to keep the momentum going and not forget about my book (since it’s not actually finished yet – but I did get the 50,000 words needed to win, which I wasn’t sure would happen for a while). This week was busy personally because my homeschool co-op musical theatre class had their final performance – it’s a big event that we plan for all semester long. It went wonderfully, and now I can breathe a little easier! Of course, the next day, I came down with a stomach bug (which my husband now has), but at least it held off until after performance night.
Still, I managed to get caught up on my blogging! Here’s what you may have missed this past week:
- Captive by Aimee Carter (review)

Can’t wait to read your review on FanGirl. I have been wanting to read that one forever.
Glad you enjoyed my discussion on quitting books. 🙂
I really enjoyed it, but I didn’t find it quite as life-changing as some people have seemed to. I think that post will probably go up later today (see my post on being a Nicole @ disorganized blogger. LOL!)
OOOh nice! Those are all new to me! Hope you enjoy them all!
Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Thanks, Jessica!
Congrats on winning NaNo!
Thanks!! Now I just have to keep the motivation going so I can actually finish the book!
If I didn’t have too many books already, I would get Keri Lakes books!! One day!

I know – I have so many books! But I read some really good reviews, and it was a really good sale, and some of the money was going to charity, and … well, what’s a few more books? 🙂
All of that and getting caught up too. That’s amazing. I’m glad you are better. Lots of stuff going around right now. And congratulations on NaNo!
I know – I was actually kind of amazed that it worked out that way. I still had a lot going on this week, but managed to get a lot of blogging in. Woo hoo!
Well done on winning at NaNo! Musical theatre class sounds like a lot of fun, I’m actually tone deaf when it comes to singing but I adore all things musical. What production did you do?
We do shows that are geared toward a kids’ choir and with a Christian theme (since it’s a Christian homeschool group) – so, not exactly regular musicals. They are LOTS of fun, though – I was a theatre major in college, so I love being able to jump back into this sort of thing (I teach an Acting class too with an emphasis on theatre games, but we don’t do a performance until second semester).
Congrats on winning NaNoWriMo! That’s AWESOME! Ooh, and way to give Keri Lake’s Sons of Wrath books some love. It’s a great series, and now’s the perfect time to jump on this indie author’s bandwagon what with the phenomenal sale and all. But, it ends soon, so don’t delay!
Yeah, I was going to just put the covers up there like I usually do, but I thought it would make more sense to put up the banner so others could see the sale too. Should also mention that some of the proceeds are going to a charity that helps keep kids in Detroit off the street! 🙂
Great job on NaNo! I can’t imagine writing 50,000 words so I’m in awe of all of you that have won. Glad the performance went well. Sound fun and exhausting. Have a great week and enjoy your new books!
