The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
Today is my 8th blogoversary!! Watch for a giveaway, which will be posted tomorrow!
- The New Pre-order Campaign Page!
- I’m changing the way I’m listing pre-order campaigns. I decided that the list in the Sunday Post was getting a little unwieldy, even with a scroll box. I have a feeling many people just go right past it without scrolling through the full list.
- The new Pre-Order Campaign Page features the books more prominently, with covers shown and pictures of the swag, if available.
- I still like the idea of featuring the incentives in my Sunday Post weekly for people who are already here to visit me anyway, but I’m only going to post the NEW pre-order campaigns here each week.
- Creating this new page was truly painstaking and time-consuming (I kept running into technical issues that made me have to switch the way I listed things), but hopefully it will be worth it in the long run. I also added Bookshop.org affiliate links, so maybe I’ll get a little bit of commission to help offset blogging costs? I figure it’s worth a try! (As all of you know, blogging gets expensive!)
- What I Read:
- City of the Plague God – Love this newest book from Rick Riordan Presents!
- Amal Unbound – Finally got around to reading the ARC I won from Lisa @ Lisa Loves Literature because my son is going to be reading it for school!
- I read the Mia Mayhem books I received for review. Super cute!
- I finished listening to Furia.
- TV We Watched:
- Supernatural. We just started season 9! Season 8 ended … interestingly. I’m curious to see where it goes from here. One problem with bingeing this show is that you know they can’t actually save the universe because there are 7 seasons left!
- Agility Training:
- Week four of agility training was our best yet! Digit does really well when he’s off-leash, and we did almost everything that way. So far, we’ve done weave poles, regular jumps, thread and serpentine jumps (where they weave back and forth between jumps in two different ways), stretch jumps (just a slightly longer jump), teeter totter, ramp, table (where they have to jump up and then wait five seconds), and the tunnel. Digit seems to really love them all! I’m going to try to remember to take a video next week, so I can share it here.
- Snow! It has snowed so much this week. I’ve spent a lot of time shoveling the back patio—if I don’t keep it cleaned off, the dogs pee on it. Ugh! But, at least Digit has enjoyed playing in the snow!

Happy blogiversary! Thanks for working so hard on the giveaway and pre-order stuff. This is pretty much the only place I learn about those things.
Oh, I’m glad that the pre-orders and giveaways are useful. Basically anytime anyone says that they appreciate them, I give a little cheer inside because it is a lot of work to keep up with. LOL! (Oh, I just added a little video of Digit catching snow to the post, by the way–I actually forgot that this post was already live when I went to go add it!)
Happy 8th Anniversary! I love that your son will be reading Amal Unbound for school. I do think classic lit is still worthwhile and serves as this commonality for us, but I like that they are incorporating contemporary authors and lit into the mix too.
Yeah, Noah’s classes don’t really read classics and I’m perfectly fine with that. He struggles with reading (and so do his classmates)—classics would just be overwhelming for them. (Oh, I just added a little video of Digit catching snow to the post, by the way–I actually forgot that this post was already live when I went to go add it!)
Wow! What a blast of winter you guys are having. My daughter did say she had quite a bit of snow out your way. Thanks for the video alert. You know I love animal vids. It’s wonderful that Noah’s teachers incorporate such amazing books. I have heard nothing by raves about Amal Unbound. Hope you both enjoy it.
That’s actually nothing compared to how much snow was out there this morning. Shoveling the deck was MURDER!!
Happy blog anniversary. What an achievement. I remember when I hit ten years, I was like ‘really!’ I bet you have so many more great memories in your life because of your blog.
I agree that the blog gives me so many great memories!!
Happy blogoversary! I just recently started a new book blog, The Fantasy Princess. I had a book blog, Fantasy Book Chick for many years that I closed a couple of years ago. I have never watched Supernatural but I know a lot of people loved it. Have a great week!
Welcome back to the blogosphere!!
For what it’s worth, the new pre-order campaigns page looks great! I love the addition of the pictures!
Oh girl, you are in for a ride with season 9 of SPN. But I believe this is the season where we meet Sheriff Donna, who I LOVE! She is great!
And happy blogoversary! Hope you have a great one! ?
Okay, well now I know a character to watch for.
Happy Blogoversary! Ooooh, you got snow. We got rain here in NC. Cold rain. Blech. Enjoy the white stuff!
looking forward to your review of Amal Unbound! I really wanted that ARC. Sounds like a fantastic read!
It sounds like Digit is doing great! and happy blogversary!!!!!!!
Hope you have a great weekend.
I like this new idea for the preorder incentives list! I usually have to scroll super slow to catch those stars! lol. I just had to scroll through season 9 of Supernatural a bit to see what all happens in this one! There’s an episode called Sharp Teeth that has a familiar face…tell me if you remember him! I was giggling when I saw it…not that it was funny-funny, but I just got a kick out of the returning actor playing someone/thing different! lol.
Yay for not adding to the TBR pile! I didn’t add too much to mine this week either other than a review book! Happy Reading!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I haven’t gotten to Sharp Teeth yet, but I’ll definitely keep an eye out for it!
I think it’s maybe mid-towards the end. So it’s a ways in I believe.
Congrats on all the blogging years! You did get a lot of snow. Lulu would not be happy and would not want to go outside. She is a southern dog, also small so she doesn’t have as much body heat? She has the cutest jacket, but she doesn’t like the boots. I think she would enjoy agility too, as she is so smart.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Happy anniversary! I wish we got more snow.
Thanks for keeping us in the loop with all the happenings in the book world! Man, that takes a lot of work.
Anyway, I hope you’ll have a great week, Nicole!
Happy Blogoversary!!! Congrats on 8 years. That’s fantastic. I love that you made a page for all the pre-order incentives. You’re a gem!
It’s been starting to snow more around me too; it’s pretty. Glad Digit is doing well in his training.
Thanks for sharing my discussion post. 🙂 I love everyone’s answers.
-Lauren
Happy blogoversary, Nicole! Wow, eight years is quite an accomplishment!
The new pre-order listing looks great. And I don’t envy you all that snow!
The only place Lulu will pee is on the back deck! So we just have to keep hosing it off over and over. Kinda hard with two feet of snow out there now.
Digit is doing so amazing and I love that video of him playing in the snow, so cute! And YAY for a page! I’m going to bookmark that so I can check it when need be. Thank you for creating it!
