Last week on FYFA (and in my life):
Hope you all had a very merry Christmas (or happy holidays if you don’t celebrate Christmas). We had a really nice time with our extended family, who we don’t get to see all that often lately, it seems. Now that we’re all gifted out (I’m pretty sure a wrapping paper bomb went off in our house), it’s time to get back to life as usual. I’m working on a new proofread for Booktrope and need to get myself ready for our homeschool co-op classes to start back up on January 4th. Things will be slow here on the blog until then probably, but I do have a few things planned and/or scheduled.
Here’s what you may have missed last week:
- Bite Sized Reviews – Snow Like Ashes and Ice Like Fire by Sara Raasch
- Top Ten Books I Wouldn’t Mind Santa Leaving Under My Tree This Year
- Forgotten World by Kate L. Mary – Review
- Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries Calendar is LIVE!
- December and Year-End Wrap-Up Round-Up – Link up your December and Year-End Wrap-Up posts here and watch for the giveaway to be posted here on FYFA on January 7th!

I am ready for the kiddos to go back to school. Next week will be hard one, for sure, considering I had a 4 day weekend and then 3 day! Love your picture of Six of Crows! that’s awesome!
Yeah, if it was just a matter of me “sending” the kids off to school, I’d be ready too – unfortunately, I have to go to, so I have to be ready for my classes!!
Awesome haul of books this week. I see quite a few that look amazing. It was a very busy week.
Grace @ Books of Love
Very busy indeed! Hope you had a wonderful holiday!
Looks like you got a great book haul! I got a KU subscription for Christmas from my in-laws and I can’t wait to get reading with it! There are so many books on my list. 🙂 A wrapping paper bomb went off in my house too, but since my youngest was sick on Christmas Day, and everyone else had left for the day, I cleaned up the whole house then. Vacuumed and everything. It has made the rest of the weekend much more lazy. Ha!
You’re better than me – it took us days to clean up! 🙂
Now I’m curious – what’s KU? I can’t think of what that one might be.
Kindle Unlimited!
I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and hopefully you got to rest as well before getting back into the swing of things! You certainly got some awesome looking books, I hope you enjoy them all! If we don’t chat again before then, HAPPY 2016 ♥
Thanks, Micheline! We did have a wonderful Christmas!!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday. Looks like a great book haul. 🙂 Happy New Year.
Thanks! I did have a fabulous Christmas with family!
OOoh nice haul! I still need to read Six of Crows! It just might be my first book for my TBR Challenge next year! LOL!
Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Good planning! It will be perfect for it!
Wow this is a perfect wrap up of the week! Happy Holidays and yay so excited for CAIT. I hope she wins 😀
Me too!! I am really excited for Cait for getting to this point and I’m encouraging everyone I know to head over there and vote!!
Oh what a great gift from your mom! I heard Six of Crows is really good. Looking forward to your review 🙂 Happy New Year
Yes – I’m really excited to read it!!
We had a nice Christmas too, but I have to admit I am ready to get back to everyday life now! It’s awesome to see friends who are here over the holidays though, I’ll definitely miss them later on. I heard good things about Six of Crows and it’s on my TBR. I hope you’ll enjoy it!
Not me – I’m not ready to get back to regular life at all! 🙂
That’s so cute your mom took your ARC and wrapped it for you to open! How fun. Glad you had a nice Christmas. I like all the things that happen around Christmas but the actual day OF can be a bit stressful and not all that fun.

Yes, I thought it was fun of her to do!
So happy you had such a wonderful Christmas and got some fabulous books! Also, I can’t wait to see your thoughts on Thicker Than Water! I enjoyed the story, but was definitely conflicted.
Just put my post up for Thicker Than Water today. I’ll have to go check yours out.
Six of Crows! Wheeeeee! That was one of my favorite reads of 2015 🙂 Merry Belated Christmas, it sounds like you had a really nice time with your family! Here’s to a great new year!
I can’t wait to read it – everyone seems to love it!
Holy geez, what a fantastic round-up! I am loving that you did so much leg work to provide everyone with a great list of the goings-on in the book blogosphere! I’ve used quite a few of these links already! I can’t wait to see more!
I’m so glad it was useful for you! I really enjoy gathering this together each week.
Happy New Year! Glad to know you had such a good Christmas! Also, some of those books look lovely. Six of Crows is one I would really like to try at some point. School starts again soon so I know what you mean about needing to get back into the rhythm of things.
