Top Ten Books I Wouldn’t Mind Santa Leaving Under My Tree This Year
Really, I need to read all of the books I already own, but of course that doesn’t stop me from wanting more. A lot of these are books that were big this year that I missed.
(Links go to Goodreads)
1. Unbound by Neal Shusterman
A book of short stories that take place in the world of Unwind. Yep, sign me up!
2. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Pssst … here’s a secret. I happen to know that Santa (AKA my mom) IS giving me this book for Christmas. Guess it’s not much of a secret since I was there when we bought it. In fact, I paid for it since I have a Target card and get 5% back and I owe her money anyway. LOL!
3. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
I NEED to join the rest of the known universe and read this book. Maybe owning it will help?
4. Made You Up by Francesca Zappia
The reviews of this one make it sound amazingly strange and wonderful!
5. Before We Were Strangers by Renee Carlino
Another one that won me over due to reviews. I wasn’t sure about it when I first saw it, but everyone’s raves have convinced me.
6. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
Everyone raves about Stiefvater, but I still haven’t read her. Santa could take care of that.
7. Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson
I don’t know why I haven’t picked this one up yet – it sounds perfect for me!
8. Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman
This is the first Western I’ve really been interested in. It sounds fantastic!
9. Fool’s Quest by Robin Hobb
Confession time. I had this book out from the library for WAY longer than I should have and I STILL didn’t manage to read it. Sigh. I love this series, but the book is so huge and I had review books I needed to read and … Yeah, you get the idea.
10. The Accident Season by Moira Fowley-Doyle
This one didn’t catch my eye at all until the reviews started coming in. I don’t know why. I mean, read that synopsis and tell me you’re not intrigued.
I finally read Throne of Glass this year after finding it at a used book sale. I can’t believe I waited so long to read it! Maggie Stiefvater is also amazing and I hope you love the Raven Boys when you get a chance to read it.
Thanks for sharing!
I THINK I even committed to reading Throne of Glass last July, but then didn’t manage to get my hands on it and never read it (hides face in shame). I know I need to read it, though – and I WILL!
Oh gosh a huge YES to Vengeance Road! That is one of my favorite books of the year! Also, how funny about Six of Crows! I didn’t end up putting on my list because my parents also got it for me! It’s not a secret for me either since I put the books in the Amazon cart for my mom. Haha. I hope you get all of these Nicole!
I didn’t give much thought to Vengeance Road until the reviews started coming out. When I saw how much everyone was loving it, I was convinced!
I will ask Santa to pretty-please get you Throne of Glass so you can read it and LOVE IT as much as I do and then we can have a nice long chat about it and I can feel gleeful as you marathon the rest of the series LOL! Oh and the same goes for Raven Boys^^ YOU NEED THOSE BOOKS NICOLE XD I wouldn’t mind vengeance road myself – oh and the time to read Walk on Earth a Stranger and Six of Crows haha! Awesome selection here, I hope you find these under your tree this year ♥ Happy holidays xxx
I know – these posts are seriously giving me heart palpitations over ALL of the books I still want to read and haven’t had a chance to! I need about a month to lock myself away and do nothing but read. My family would be okay with that, right?
I actually just read throne of glass, like last week! It is amazing!! For Christmas I hope to get the second book, because I need more! I hope you get every single book on your list because, they all sound amazing!
Glad I’m not the only one who’s late to the game!
I really liked the book BEFORE WE WERE STRANGERS. It was very well written and had a good story too. 🙂 THE ACCIDENT SEASON is also on my list today. I hope you get some of these for the holuday!!!
I wished that I had requested Before We Were Strangers once the reviews started pouring in. It sounded like the type of book I would have loved!
I loved Throne of Glass and The Raven Boys! It’ll only leave you wanting more books from the series 🙂
Yes, I have a feeling that once I get started with those, I won’t be able to stop!
YAY for The Raven Boys! I have seen Made You Up on a lot of lists today!
You’re one of the many people who’ve encouraged me to read Raven Boys – I really need to get on that!!
I want so many of these books too! I actually have Throne of Glass, Walk on Earth a Stranger and The Raven Boys on my Kindle but I haven’t gotten to them yet. I definitely want to make time for them next year! I’m hoping for The Book of Ivy, Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen, Hunting Lila by Sarah Alderson and so many more. 🙂
Scarlet definitely could have made my list too. I loved Book of Ivy, so I hope you get that one!
The Raven Boys is a must read. The series is so atmospheric and has such a wonderful cast of characters. I’ve still not read the Throne of Glass series but I’ve decided to wait until all the books come out so I can binge read them in one sitting. Plus maybe by then my expectations won’t be as high cause the hype surrounding this series is insane.
That’s a good idea about Throne of Glass – sometimes waiting until you can binge read is the best idea! Do you know how many more books are planned?
I think it’s a six book series and the first four books are available to buy. The downside of waiting is trying to avoid the spoilers haha.
Good to know – thanks!
Vengeance Road was good, I didn’t love it as much as some did but it was still good. I liked the MC a lot, she didn’t mess around! And Robin Hobb I’ve always enjoyed, especially the Fitz books- although I haven’t started this latest series yet.
I was so excited when I saw there was going to be another Fitz series! That was how I fell in love with Hobb back in the day.
Wonderful list! I’m in the same boat as you–I haven’t read Throne of Glass either, and I feel like I’m the only mammal in the world who hasn’t. Hooray on knowing you’re getting Six of Crows! I hope you enjoy it, and I hope Santa brings you some other books on this list as well!
Yay for two mammals who haven’t read it yet! (I’m glad you didn’t include the fish – I’ll bet there’s lots of them who haven’t read it.) 🙂
Can’t wait to read Made You Up. It sounds so good!
Happy Holidays!
My TTT! 😀
YES! That’s one that so many of my blogger friends loved – I just NEED to read it!
So many good choices!
There are SO many good books out there to choose from!
I still haven’t read The Raven Boys either! I’ve read some great things about it though that have made me really want to try that one, so I’m going to find it at the library or something this year. But if Santa wanted to bring it for me to, that would be helpful 😛
There are SO many books like that that I’ve been meaning to read forever. Owning them would help, right? Hopefully!!
I really need to read The Accident Season and Made You Up as well!
Both got such excellent reviews.
Great list. I liked Vengeance Road, and I have Walk on Earth a Stranger sitting on my TBR shelf. I want to read it early next year because it sounds really interesting.
Vengeance Road is way different from anything I’ve read before, which is why I want to give it a try.
I totally understand wanting more books even though we have enough to be getting on with! I also have Made You Up on my list this week. Fingers crossed that we both get a copy!
Yes – why not get more books to pile onto our shelves? 🙂
I can’t believe that I still haven’t read Made You Up. It sounds like my kind of book, and I LOVE the colors in the cover! Happy Holidays!
I think you’re right – it does sound like your kind of book. Happy Holidays to you too!! I got your card and I wanted to say thank you so much! It was really sweet of you to send one!
Hi Nicole! I have to say, I’m super glad to meet another late comer to the “Throne of Glass” world. I feel so left out in this bookish universe (though I have no excuse since I own a copy). Here’s hoping we both get to that epic-sounding series in 2016. 🙂
Nice to meet you (my family was a homeschooling family too) and thanks so much for visiting Dreaming Under the Same Moon. I appreciate you visiting. 🙂
Yay for homeschoolers! I’m happy to meet you too!
Oooh nice! I still need to read Six of Crows myself! I felt hesitant over The Accident Season. I felt like there was some paranormal intrigue, but then I also felt like it might too contemporary for me. I just don’t know what to do! LOL!
Hope Santa comes through for you!!
Here’s my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I wasn’t sure about it either, but when the reviews started rolling in I was convinced that it was something I’d love.
Vengeance Road was a surprise to me. I absolutely hate westerns and a friend talked me into buddy reading it with her for a goodreads challenge. I loved it, gave it 5 stars.
Yeah, I’ve never been one for Westerns either, but so many people were raving about this one – I’m convinced I’ll really enjoy it!
Ahaha the story about Six of Crows made me laugh, but yay for getting it anyway! Throne of Glass should have been on my list – I feel like I’m the only one in the world who has never even seen a copy out in the world!
Yeah, Santa’s pretty casual around here – it’s not uncommon for us to help him out. A lot. 🙂
Some great choices on your list! I hope you get all of these for Christmas. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!!!
Yay for Six of Crows! It’s such a great book, the only downside is having to wait into 2016 to read Crooked Kingdom. Hope you find a couple of your picks waiting under your tree this year. Merry Christmas!
My TTT.
These are all super amazing books – I hope you get Throne of Glass, it’s one of my favourite series ever! Merry CHristmas!
Made You Up was one of my favorite books read this year. I absolutely loved it. I have The Throne of Glass on my Kindle and need to read it soon. I hope you get everything on your list!
I’ve heard so many amazing things about that book – it’s high on my want list!!!
I was not a big fan of Maggie Stiefvater’s The Wolfs of Mercy Falls series, but The Raven Boys pleasantly surprised me! For some reason though I haven’t continued with the series eventhough I read it almost 2 years ago… Gotta change that!
I have a few friends who rave about Stiefvater, but I haven’t managed to read her yet. I definitely want to, though!!
Oh i’ve not heard of some of these before! I’ll need to check them out 😉 BUT WALK ON EARTH A STRANGER IS DEFINITELY ON MY LIST OF BOOKS TO OWN! I read it from the library and really want it on my shelf, but alas… santa didn’t come through on that one lol xD Other books I want are- Illuminae, The Raven Cycle, some contemporary YA romances haha
Did you end up getting any of your books under the christmas tree?
The only one I got was the one I knew about – Six of Crows – but this was more of a wishlist than a list of books I thought I’d get since I hadn’t told anyone about them! 🙂
Six of Crows is an absolute must read right away! Such an amazing book. I also really enjoyed Vengeance Road and Made You Up!
I hope you got all the books you wanted, lady. 🙂
I plan to jump into Six of Crows VERY soon! Can’t wait to read it!
I just bought Six of Crows and I’m so excited to read it!!!!!! 😀
