Last week on FYFA (and in my life):
Whew! I can barely believe I survived this week! The BEA exhaustion hit hard, but I’m certainly not complaining. As always, the absolute BEST part of BEA was the bloggers and other friends I got to meet. I’ll be sharing lots about that in my BEA wrap-up post (or posts?) that will go up this week!!
We’re spending this weekend celebrating my daughter’s 12th birthday. It’s hard to believe my beautiful girl’s growing up so fast!!
Not much on the blog this past week. In fact, there was just ONE post (which ended up being a promo post instead of a review because my Edelweiss review copy refused to download):
- The Season of You & Me by Robin Constantine – Excerpt & Giveaway – Still time to enter to win a copy of the book!
And, while this isn’t technically on my blog, the giveaway for this month’s Monthly Wrap-Up Round-Up was posted on 125 Pages! You can enter to win a Grab Bag of Goodies, Including 2 books from BEA16!
Next week on FYFA:
Okay, so I’d planned on changing the schedule date of The Crown’s Game so that it would go up last week, but in all the BEA craziness, I didn’t remember to do it. It’s scheduled for tomorrow, though!
- The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye – Review
- BEA Wrap-Up(s) – At least one!
Clean Sweep ARC Challenge April Update:
Ironically, even though I was surrounded by books this week, I did less reading than ever. The only “reading” I got done during BEA was listening to an audiobook during our drives. I did get two books read pre-BEA, though. You can see my update on my Clean Sweep Challenge Sign-up Page
Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries:
Lots of things to celebrate next week! I hope you’ll stop by these blogs and send the bloggers some cheer in honor of their special days! (And check out the calendar to see what you might have just missed or what’s coming up.)
- May 18 – Vivacious Hobo‘s Blogoversary
- May 20 – Between the Pages‘ Blogoversary
- May 21 – Karen @ Kissin’ Blue Karen’s Birthday
Check my BEA posts for this week’s books!

I’ll add it to my list, Lory!
Yay can’t wait to see your BEA posts!! Sounds like it was awesome! Hope you all have a great time celebrating your daughter’s birthday. I have had issues downloading on EW before – the worst!! Have a great week!
Yeah, this is the second time I was supposed to review a book for FFBC and I couldn’t download the book. It’s a shame because this one looks really good!
I swear I jinxed myself because I went to read this and it wasn’t in my kindle but it said it downloaded on EW and now it is archived!!
That’s what happened to me. It said it was downloaded, but it never actually got to my Kindle account. I tried it multiple times in a couple of different ways, but it never worked. 🙁
I’m glad you had a great time and survived! I can’t believe it was 2 years ago we met at BEA!
I know, right? It seems crazy! I met a ton of new bloggers, which is always the best part of BEA (for me).
BEA is always an awesome experience. I’m glad that your BEA experience was wonderful. I hope you love all of your new books.
Grace @ Books of Love
It was SO much fun!!
Oh gosh, I’m so worn out from BEA but it was such a blast. I’m so excited that I was able to attend and meet you!!! Sorry I didn’t see your tweet earlier. LOL
I had a few posts this past week, but not too much. I should have a LOT more this week though because I tried to schedule a lot before I left for BEA.
-Lauren
Good for you – I’m terrible about scheduling ahead. I didn’t even bother pretending I was going to this time. I DID have the one Crown’s Game post that I was planning to move to last week (it was already scheduled for today), but every day I’d get in the car and remember it and think, “Darn it!” Oh well!
I’m really glad that I had the chance to meet you in person, and I’m glad you had a fantastic time!!
Glad you had fun at BEA! I really hope I can go next year! 🙂
I hope you make it next year too – it’s tons of fun!
I’m looking forward to hearing about your BEA adventures! And 12 years old? Wow. Almost a teenager! 🙂
I know – it’s scary! I already have one teenager, and I don’t know if I’ll survive two (three, actually, since my youngest is only 4.5 months younger than my daughter)!
Glad you had fun at BEA, and I can’t wait to see your posts about it! And happy birthday to your daughter!
Thanks, Kristen!! I feel like I have so much to say about BEA – I don’t know how I’ll manage it all!!
I’m excited to read your BEA posts! It was exhausting, but a lot of fun. I only wish I had taken tomorrow off from work to fully recover.
Ha! Hope that you make it through today without falling asleep! 🙂 Really glad I got the chance to meet you!
I started my bea post last night. I didn’t finish. So much to talk about about and post. It was a crazy fun adventure and I loved seeing all my bloggy friends. I enjoyed meeting up with you and all the others.
I haven’t started yet because we were celebrating my daughter’s birthday with family, but I know it’s going to take me FOREVER because there was so much awesomeness!!
I tried to download this one, but it didn’t work for me for some reason. Bah.
Happy reading, Nicole!
Ugh! I found the easiest way was to sign up for the text messages and click on it directly from there on my phone. Then, once you do that, you still have to go make sure it downloads in Overdrive. Sorry you had troubles!
I’m glad you had fun at BEA. I’m looking forward to your wrap-up post. Happy birthday to your daughter!
Thanks, AJ! It was a blast! I told my daughter lots of my blogger friends were wishing her a happy birthday! 🙂
Ah, BEA. It’s always hard coming back from a convention or show like that- can’t wait to see all the wrap up posts. 🙂 It sounds like a lot of fun.
I also picked up The Sin Eater’s Daughter from Sync as well.
I love all the giveaways you share! And I am reading The Crown’s Game right now, so will need to go check your review. And all your BEA pics! So jealous! Have a great week!
Check out my Sunday Post
I hope you had a fabulous time celebrating your daughter’s birthday! *Happy Birthday* And I can’t wait to read your BEA wrap-up posts! I’m sure it was a blast!
