2018 Reading Challenge Sign-Ups and Wrap-Up of My 2017 Challenges

Posted December 28, 2017 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Challenges / 17 Comments

I decided to combine my sign-ups for my 2018 challenges with my wrap-up for 2017. Kind of fun to see these side-by-side and analyze last year while looking forward to the year ahead!

My 2018 Reading/Blogging Challenges:

Goal: 31-40 Discussions (Terrifically Talkative)

Of course I’m participating in this challenge since I’m hosting it!

The goal of this challenge is to post book-related discussions (or getting to know you type discussions work too.) This challenge is one of my favorite aspects of blogging, and I’m excited to be continuing it! I did reduce my goal a bit for next year, since I didn’t meet the goal last year and I plan to be a busy bee in 2018.

Goal: 365 Blogs Commented On

This is going to be really tough, but I want to try the Commenting 365 Challenge this year. My goal will be to comment on 365 different blogs in 2018 and I’m going to try to make as many of them as I can bloggers I haven’t visited before. We’ll see how it goes!

HOST/SIGN-UP LINK – Read Write Love 28

Goal: 365 Chapters Read

I’ve been meaning to read this book for years (since I was a teenager). Did you know that it has 365 chapters? Perfect for a year-long readalong!

HOST/SIGN-UP LINK – One Catholic Life

Goal: LOTS of backlist books!

This is a team challenge, and there are no specific goal levels—you just want to read as many backlist books as possible to give your team a better chance to win that month. I was assigned to the Story Sorcerers Team!

HOST/SIGN-UP LINK – Novel Knight

Goal: 61-100 books read (New Release Veteran)

The 2018 New Release Challenge is a year-long challenge in which we aim to read books released in 2018.

HOST/SIGN-UP LINK – (un)Conventional Book Views

Goal: 12 TBR Books Read

I figured as long as I’m doing Beat the Backlist, I’d do this one too, since they go hand-in-hand. Plan to knock some books off my TBR in 2018!

HOST/SIGN-UP LINK – Roof Beam Reader

That’s it for 2018! One less challenge than I did in 2017, but I think some of these might stretch me a bit more.

I think you did a great job on your 2017 challenges. I only did the Goodreads one, and that’s really just to keep track of what I read. HOWEVER, I do want to do some of these in the new year including your discussion challenge and Beat the Backlist (or one of the other TBR challenges). I’m still thinking, but I’ll have a post up soon.

  2. Wow! You accomplished a LOT on reading challenges this year. Best of luck to you on your 2018 literary ventures.

That Les Miserables challenge looks like a ton of fun! I am so tempted to participate, even though I’ve already read the book, and don’t feel like it’s time for a re-read yet…. but still, it’s actually tempting me!

  3. I’ve got to plan my challenges for next year. I’m going to probably think about it and post it tomorrow. I hope. Good luck on all your challenges! I finally found a planner that keeps all of my scheduling and reading and books that need to be reviewed, and a list of ARCs/egalleys available and their pub dates, etc. But it doesn’t have any note pages for keeping track of challenges. So I may have to keep a separate notebook on the table where I do all my blogging.

  4. Some really good challenges here and you did well with your 2017 goals I think. My focus for my 2018 challenges is conquering my towering TBR so I’ve mostly focused on challenges which will help me do that from Beat The Backlist (because I think getting points for reading books pre 2018 will encourage me) but also have ones with prompts to keep me focused. I’m keeping my fingers crossed it goes well. And obviously, I’m doing the discussion challenge because it’s blog focused and fun!
