Sunday Post: Pre-Order Deals & Giveaways Galore – 5/13/18

Posted May 13, 2018 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Sunday Post / 38 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there!

We’re celebrating Mother’s Day and my daughter’s birthday with family today. Should be a wonderful day!

I decided to rename my Sunday Post so that people will realize that pre-order deals are included. I realized that only people who know me and care enough to come check out what’s going on with my week would click on my Sunday Post, and I want everyone to be able to find all the amazing pre-order deals that I have listed here! Hopefully this will help more people find them. (I’ve been including pre-order deals in this post for over two years, so it’s well past time I did this!)

My homeschool co-op classes are done! So, I guess I’m officially no longer a teacher, which is weird. Though I never “officially” felt like a teacher, so … Whatever. I do still have some work to finish—grading and reading through my students’ books and making comments—but I should have a lot more free time very soon. Which means I have NO more excuses for why I’m not working on my writing. I need to make myself a schedule and stick to it. Seriously. Feel free to pester me in the comments and ask me if I stuck to my self-imposed deadlines each week. (I’m horrible about self-imposed deadlines!)

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog this past week:

Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries:

Birthday-150 Blogoversary-150x150

Here are the birthdays and blogoversaries this week! I hope you’ll go wish these bloggers well on their special days! Make sure you check out the calendar to see what you might have just missed or what’s coming up. (If you want to be added to the calendar, it’s easy! Just fill out the birthday/blogoversary form.)

Book-Haul

For Review:

I received LifeLik3 from Knopf Books for Young Readers via Rockstar Book Tours! Watch for my review coming on May 28th! And I received The Fall of Grace from the author. I’m going to try to fit that one in before the end of the month as well, so keep your eye out!

Great Discussions/Goings On Around the Blogosphere:

Pre-Order Deals:

Listed in order of release date. Any new deals that I just added to the list this week will be denoted with a *** so you can easily find them!

Please note: Almost all pre-order giveaways run “while supplies last,” so I can’t guarantee that they’ll be open until the date listed. Pre-0rder early for your best chance to get all the goodies!

Other Current Giveaways on FYFA:

(Besides the ones listed with this week’s posts)

Even More Awesome Giveaways on Other Sites:

Lots of good stuff! Have any giveaways or great discussions happening on your site right now? Feel free to share them in the comments!

    • I’ve been doing pretty good about putting in a few hours a day of writing this week, so it’s a good start! Editing is VERY slow though, because I’m working on making those little updates that make all the difference—taking out filter words and such. Sometimes those changes can take the longest because you really have to think about the best way to rewrite.

  1. Good luck with sticking to your writing deadlines! I’m generally terrible at self-imposed deadlines too though, to be honest.
    Have a great week! 🙂

  2. Happy Mother’s Day! And congrats on the final days of your teaching. I hope you find lots of time to work on your writing, though I get what you mean about self-imposed deadlines. I’m SO the same way. hah

  3. Happy Mother’s Day!! Hope you had a nice one. 🙂 And good luck with the writing too. Time and making ourselves write is one of the hardest things, I think!

I’m very curious about Lifel1k3 since I’ve never read a solo Kristoff book, but his stuff seems popular and I did like the Illuminae books. I may try it if reviews are good.

    Have a fab week!

    • I read Nevernight and enjoyed it, though not quite as much as a lot of other people seemed to. The weird thing is, the book has stayed in my mind a lot more solidly than many books that I thought at the time I liked better. Books that make an impression like that are few and far between, and I think it has to count for something.

  4. So I’m enjoying seeing all the interesting things people are doing on their blogs as I look around the Sunday posts. You do some different things and I like the layout. One of my team, Robin is also reviewing LIFeL1K3 May 25th. I’ll also mention as of tomorrow I have 4 different giveaways going on at my blog. Anne – Books of My Heart

Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you had a wonderful weekend celebrating that and your daughters birthday. ? And congratulations on finishing up your classes! That’s going to be amazing that you’ll have more time to work on your book…..but I always get distracted too from what I’m supposed to be doing. I’ll rearrange our pantry instead of what I should he doing HA! And thanks for featuring the ISAN giveaway on our blog here! I’ve tried some that authors other books and they weren’t for me but this book is easily going be in my favorite books for this whole year, it was much fun!!

  6. Thank you for sharing all the pre-order deals! I think I will cave and pre-order at least two Bruja and Flame

Wow I cannot believe that you are officially no longer a teacher! You may never “officially” thought of yourself as a teacher but I did for years so yup… weird. I bet you’ll miss it but yeah… NO more excuses! OMG I see BOOKS!!! Books by Nicole! YAYYY [claps hands]

Since I’m horrible with self-impose deadlines too I wanted to start a regular writer’s feature in June [because I’ll be prepping for July camp] that I hope will help me keep me on my toes I was debating between:

    1) resurrecting a writer’s monthly wrap-up feature I stared during my second year of blogging (but I didn’t keep up with it!) or..
    2) Something I can combined with my reviews like maybe a favorite/least favorite duet of books and then discuss a different topic every week/month like the genre. theme, writing, voice, setting, etc and compare to my own WIP’s progress.

IDK I’m still thinking about it LOL because.. that would be another thing that would take time away from writing! decisions decisions LOL 🙂

BUT… I guess that where I’m going with this is that maybe that would work for you! If you had a regular feature about your writing that may hep you stay on track AND will give us your readers a change to pester you in the comments! 🙂

    • It’s such a hard thing to choose how to spend your time. Today I spent a bunch of time updating stuff for GDPR (which feels silly, but whatever). And then I’ve been working on replying to comments—haven’t gotten to writing a post OR working on my WIP yet today, and I’ve already been up for four hours. Sigh.

  7. ugh I hear you that’s exactly what I’m doing right now GDPR! Maybe that’s why you got that error message. Today or tomorrow a discussion post is going up exactly on how my blogging springeddon is going and how I made the math that it will take me gazillions hours to catch up with my comments and visit my favorite blogs. And dealing with that [yes silly!] GDRP thingy IS NOT HELPING [she sobs] 🙂 Good luck and thank you for the twitter DM Xoxo
