The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.
This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
- Car buying (for my mom). Awhile back, my dad got into an accident and once they took it apart for repairs they realized it needed to be totaled. Yesterday, we went car shopping and found my mom a new car. There are very few cars on the lots right now, so the search has been a bit crazy, but we found one and got a good deal and jumped on it.
- What I Read
- I kept working on the manuscript I’ve been reading for author friend. I also read The Button Box by Bridget Hodder and New From Here by Kelly Yang.
- I finished listening to The Handmaid’s Tale and continued listening to When We Were Magic by Sarah Gailey.
- What I Watched:
- I continued watching Kim’s Convenience. This show is really fun!
Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

I’m glad you were able to find a good deal on a car! I’ve been looking at cars, but I can’t afford one at the current prices. Luckily, my parents are nice about letting me borrow theirs, and I don’t mind walking long distances. Have a great week!
I know, the car market is crazy out there! Just finding a car is hard because the lots are so empty. You can’t be at all picky about color or even options. And we were lucky to get this one for just about $1000 over sticker price – which, right now, is a great deal. If my parents hadn’t been forced to shop for a car right now, they definitely wouldn’t have.
Cars are really difficult to find so I’m happy your parents got a good deal on one. I am currently reading New From Here (checked out from our library) as well as Kiss & Tell which has the cutest cover.
I saw that you were reading New From Here! DM me when you’re done and we can compare notes! 🙂
I heard car prices are obscene right now due to shortages. My neighbor got bought out of her lease because the dealer needed the car to sell. Glad you were able to find something.
Yeah, it’s definitely not a good time to need to buy a car. We were at least happy we managed to get one for just slightly over sticker price. That’s the best you can hope for these days!
The Handmaid’s Tale was such a great read. I hope you enjoyed it a lot!
I absolutely loved it. I know everyone raves about it, but there was still a tiny part of me that was worried I wouldn’t love it. That little part of me was definitely wrong. It was great reading it along with my daughter, too.
I’m glad you found a car. Happy Blogoversary!!!
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Glad you were able to find the right car for your mom! I know my stepdad is looking to get himself a new truck but with the whole issue in the “chips” he’s pretty much waiting for that and the right deal! I got lucky last year when I bought mine, I guess it was right before the shortage? My stepdad also helped me get a really good deal on it too! I love it!
Yay for not adding to the TBR pile this week! I only added 2 books really since the third is one I read last year! Happy Reading this week!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Glad you found your mom a car. It’s super hard to find one these days. I want to read New From Here too. Natalie @ Literary Rambles
Kim’s Convenience sounds fun
Car shopping can be stressful. So I’m glad you were able to find a good deal.
That’s awesome you got a car for your mom, and at a good deal too!! I’m off to check out all your giveaways and pre-order links! 🙂
