My Goings-On in April:
Here are the things that stand out to me this month:
- College decision and the end of high school. Since this is Danielle’s senior year, April (actually, the last couple of months) have been all about her.
- We went on college visits and she ended up choosing to go to Purdue, where she’ll major in Landscape Architecture.
- She’s at the end of her final season of track (she runs hurdles).
- We’ve been studying for her AP tests (well, technically, she’s studying, but I’m quizzing her a lot and learning a whole lot of it right along with her – I know a lot more about the government now than I used to!).
- She had prom (you can see a pic of her in her dress in my Sunday Post).
- I re-purpleized my hair! (Check out the pic in my sidebar.)
- Trip to Atlanta. This was technically one of those college visits I talked about (we visited UGA), but we turned it into a long-weekend trip to Atlanta. We went on a food tour (yum!) and went to the Botanic Gardens, along with visiting UGA’s campus in Athens.

Congrats on your daughters choosing Purdue! Good luck to her!
Happy May!
Thank you! It was a tough choice, but I think she’ll be really happy there.
This was a big month for Danielle. She picked a great university, and her major sounds so interesting.
I agree about her major. My husband and I kind of thought of the possibility for her, not really expecting much to come out of it – but it fits her kind of perfectly!
Congrats to your daughter! Now another adventure will begin!
So true! That’s a good way to look at it!
Congrautlations to your daughter (and you) for getting into Purdue!!
Thanks! She’s worked really hard!
El Cucuy Is Scared, Too! looks so cute. I’ve read the author’s previous MG novels, so no doubt this one is good as well. Congrats to your daughter and you for raising such a successful kid! Happy May.
I hope Danielle loves her university! I just bought the first Aru Shah book. I’m excited for it.
Oh, I hope you love it! I think the first book is still my favorite in the series (even though I enjoyed all of them). I also got the graphic novel version of the first book, and I’m excited to jump into that too!
Congratulations to your daughter! What an adventure she has ahead of her.
I’m getting my hair cut today, and I’m so ready for a change. Your hair looks lovely!
It sounds like a big month with a lot of big change to come. Maybe the repurple-ising your hair was the start of that change? But it’s great that things are settled for your daughter on where she’s going. You read so many books in April too! I feel like I slowed down a little this month but I’m sure my reading will pick back up.
Atlanta is a place I’ve only ever driven through on the way to Orlando. I think one time we spent the night in a hotel there on the way because the drive got too long. I need to go visit some time. Some good books and a busy month for you! Hope May is going well so far!
