I’ve Met You, Now I NEED to Read You! – Let’s Discuss

Let's Discuss, RT 14

This is the third in a series of discussions that I’m planning based on my experiences at RT 2015 (you can check out my posts on faith in blogging and diversity by clicking the links!). These are thoughts that were inspired by specific panels, or by books from RT, or just by random passing things that happened there. I love that events like this help me to think critically about books, blogging and the publishing world in general!   Today, I just felt like posting something light and fun, so I thought I’d talk about how meeting an author and having a personal encounter with them makes you need to read their books! First off, when you go to a conference like RT, there are SO many authors there. Tons of authors, some that you know and some that you don’t. There are a few different reactions to meeting an author at RT: I have… Read more »

Sunday Post & Giveaways Galore – 5/24/15

Sunday Post & Giveaways Galore – 5/24/15

RT, Sunday Post 23

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead. Last TWO weeks on FYFA (and in my life): I didn’t manage to put up a Sunday Post last week. It’s the first time that’s happened – maybe ever. But, trust me, I had good reason. Actually, I could extend that to the past month, but … Anyway, as most of you know, the week before last, I headed out to RT in Dallas. It was an amazing experience, and my days and nights were pretty much completely filled while I was there. You  can read a recap and see some pictures here. Just for the heck of… Read more »

Top Ten Things I Loved About RT 2015

Top Ten Things I Loved About RT 2015

Book Events, RT, Top Ten Tuesday 33

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is a freebie, so I decided I’d combine it with my update on RT 2015! Top Ten Things I Loved About RT 2015 (Clockwise, from left to right – Colleen Hoover, Sara Raasch, IW Gregorio, Brigid Kemmerer, Kimberly Derting, Liz Czukas  – AKA Ellie Cahill, Jennifer Lynn Armentrout, Ann Aguirre) Okay, I know I’ve been silent on the blog a lot this past week, but RT was WAY more intense and all-consuming than I expected. In all the best ways, though!! This conference was AMAZING in so many ways – it is so much more personal than BEA, and there’s A LOT more more interaction with the authors. That’s not to say that I didn’t love BEA, and I’m definitely going to be heading to that next year, but I would highly recommend RT if you’re looking for something different. Next year it’s in Vegas! 1. My Roommate If it weren’t for RT,… Read more »
