I’m excited to say that spammers have figured out ways around those pesky checkboxes in the comments section, and I now have plenty of new material for these spam posts again! So… It’s time for a new installment of Fun with SPAM, where we peek into the abyss of the Spam folder to find a few gems and imagine … what if I were really going to reply to these random crazy comments?  Take a look at what I might say: Very good post. I will be experiencing some of these issues as well. How interesting! I’m checking over my bite-sized reviews in the post you commented on, trying to guess which issues you’re going to be experiencing. Are you going deaf and planning to track down a whale? Moving to a seaside town filled with magical creatures? Developing synesthesia and you’re afraid your parents have been murdered? Planning to escape… Read more »

So… It’s time for a new installment of Fun with SPAM, where we peek into the abyss of the Spam folder to find a few gems and imagine … what if I were really going to reply to these random crazy comments?  Take a look at what I might say: If you happen to use goldfish, they may eat your vegetation. I was really concerned about that. It’s the only reason I haven’t used any goldfish on the blog. I’m really proud of the vegetation around here, and I wouldn’t want it to get eaten! Thank you for your valuable insights.   What i do not realize is in truth how you are not actually much more smartly-preferred than you may… Read more »

Let's Discuss, Spam 50

Something sad has happened lately: I haven’t been getting much Spam. At first I was sort of baffled, but then I realized it’s because, due to the new(ish) GDPR regulations, I added the checkbox about my privacy policy to my comments section. I’ve gone from having hundreds of messages in my Spam folder to only a few! For most people, this would be good news, but for me it means I haven’t been able to write a Spam post in a while because it’s taken me a lot longer to build up a supply of “high-quality” Spam comments. Ah, the trials and tribulations of being a blogger! Anyway… It’s time for a new installment of Fun with SPAM, where we peek into the abyss of the Spam folder to find a few gems and imagine … what if I were really going to reply to these random crazy comments?  Take a look at… Read more »

Let's Discuss, Spam 38

It’s time for a new installment of Fun with SPAM! Ah, the dreaded spam comments … we all know them well. Since that last SPAM post, I’ve been saving up all the good ones that make it through my filter. It doesn’t take long to collect quite a few, so I decided it was time to revisit one of my favorite goofy topics: SPAM. Once again, I decided to take a peek into the abyss of the Spam folder to find a few gems and imagine … what if I was really going to reply to these random crazy comments? Take a look at what I might say: Un manga est une bande dessinée japonaise. Yes. Thank you for that information. All my French readers should certainly be aware that “a manga is a Japanese comic.” I should have made this clearer for them. Good thing I have you around!  … Read more »

It’s time for a new installment of Fun with SPAM! Ah, the dreaded spam comments … we all know them well. Once again, a crazy comment made it through my spam filter and made me laugh. It reminded me that it was past time to revisit one of my favorite goofy topics: Spam. Once again, I decided to take a peek into the abyss of the Spam folder to find a few gems and imagine … what if I was really going to reply to these random crazy comments? Take a look at what I might say. Right away I am going away to do my breakfast, afterward having my breakfast coming yet again to read more news. Thank you for the compliment, but I’m a bit nervous for your health. If you keep having your breakfast coming yet again, you should probably see a doctor.  Your child are designed for… Read more »

Fun with Spam – Let’s Discuss

Let's Discuss, Spam 56

Ah, the dreaded spam comments … we all know them well. Now, for the most part, my spam filter catches all these bad boys so that I never even have to set eyes on them. But the other day one slipped through the cracks and reading it just made me … laugh! It reminded me of the fun I had featuring spam on my blog once when I was a newbie blogger. (I called the post Spam-a-Lot – click on the link for even more fun spam!). So, I decided to take a peek into the abyss of the Spam folder to find a few gems and imagine … what if I was really going to reply to these random crazy comments? Take a look at what I might say. (The first one is the message that made it through my spam filter.) Do you ever read your spam? Does it make you laugh?… Read more »

Spam-a-lot – Who comes up with this stuff?

Let's Discuss, Spam 0

Do you ever read through the spam comments that you get on your blog? They can be pretty frustrating, but they can also be a source of great entertainment! I mean, really, who do they think they’re fooling? Since those poor spammers never get a single reply, I thought I’d take a sampling of my spam and respond to their comments here. It’s only fair, right? INSULTING  First, we have the insulting spam. Is this supposed to get my attention? I guess it worked. PRAISING The least you can do if you’re going to spam me is praise my wonderful work!   CONFUSING And then there are those spam comments that are just downright weird and confusing!   Ah, the joys of spam. Since I’ve moved to CommentLuv, I don’t get much of it anymore, but the ones that slip through (on old posts) are so much fun! Who needs… Read more »
