Sunday Post & Giveaways Galore – 3/25/18

Posted March 25, 2018 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Sunday Post / 42 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

I took a bit of an unplanned hiatus this week, as you can probably see. I’m just kind of overwhelmed at this moment with writing and my homeschool co-op classes. All but one of my classes are done on April 7th, though, so things will be getting back to normal soon!

My mom and I went to our local March for Our Lives yesterday. I wasn’t sure how many people would show up to the local one, since they could head out to Chicago, but they’re estimating that 2000 people were there! We marched 3.5 miles in the freezing weather (my mom’s watch said 4.4, by the time everything was said and done), but it was great to be a part of this important cause.

Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries:

Birthday-150 Blogoversary-150x150

Here are the birthdays and blogoversaries this week! I hope you’ll go wish these bloggers well on their special days! Make sure you check out the calendar to see what you might have just missed or what’s coming up. (If you want to be added to the calendar, you can always fill out the birthday/blogoversary form.)

Book-Haul

From NetGalley:

I got two books this week that I’ve been really anticipating: Legendary and The Way You Make Me Feel.

For Review:

Bring Me Their Hearts was a fun surprise from Entangled, and it even came with an amazing book sleeve! And then I got the audio of Children of Blood and Bone from Macmillan. I’m already listening to it, and it’s great so far!

Pre-Order Deals:

Listed in order of release date. Any new deals that I just added to the list this week will be denoted with a *** so you can easily find them!

Please note: Almost all pre-order giveaways run “while supplies last,” so I can’t guarantee that they’ll be open until the date listed. Pre-0rder early for your best chance to get all the goodies!

  1. shooting

Ooh lots of blogs celebrating 3 years. That’s awesome!
No worries about taking a bit of a hiatus; I’m sure you are quite busy these days but hopefully things will settle a bit once you’re classes are over.
That’s awesome your march had so many people!!! 🙂

  2. Nicole, my apologies for vanishing from your blog! I miss this little corner of the Internet. It’s so cozy here. I think it’s actually really nice to take breaks in general. I am considering giving it a try perhaps because I am getting overwhelmed with my online religion classes and new article publishing website. How do you go about hiatus’? Like, do you stop commenting on blogs, too? Or do you still interact with people from other sites even though you’re not posting on your own website?

I am so happy you joined a march this weekend! I had too much anxiety to do that just yet.
Hoping to visit your blog more regularly. I just need to figure out how to manage my time a little better ( a lot better, actually).

    • Well, this unplanned hiatus was basically a hiatus from everything—posting, commenting, replying. I was just too crazy busy and couldn’t fit everything in! I’ve tried to make up for it this week by doing A LOT of visiting and commenting, though!

  3. I’m sure you’ll be glad when things slow down a bit, Nicole. That’s awesome you went to the March for Our Lives. And congrats on your book haul. I look forward to seeing your thoughts on Children of Blood and Bone in particular.
    Have a great week!

  4. How cool that you marched! We’ve been talking about it too, I think it’s so important. And those kids in Florida, I’m so impressed to hear them speaking out. Good for the young. 🙂

Legendary just reminds me that I wanted to read Caraval but never actually bought it, so I need to do that. 🙂

    Have a great week Nicole!

    • I’m really glad that the teenagers in Florida have managed to do what no one else has been able to and really organize the movement around gun control. The NRA is incredibly organized, and those of us who want gun control need to do the same if we want any results.

  5. It’s cool that you went to the march. People around here love their guns, so I don’t think there were any marches nearby. I hope things get less overwhelming for you soon. Have a great week and enjoy your new books!

  6. There’s an end in sight to the classes… hope things calm down for you then. That’s so great that you and your mom went to the March. It was so encouraging to see the amazing turn-outs, not just in D.C. but across the country. Thanks for the mention of my current giveaway! Hope you have a great week, Nicole.

  7. sorry to hear you feel overwhelmed at this moment. Glad you took a break from the blog because writing is important! We got a MG book to out on the shelves here 🙂 Cannot wait to here what you thought of CoBaB!

  8. Sometimes a hiatus is well deserved and seems you’ve been busy with school-related business so it’s understandable taking a short break from blogging to focus on other stuff. Especially as you know there’s a set date for all of that to be finished. And then more time for blogging and reading! And I have been so amazed by the turn out to various March for our Lives events, I know it doesn’t affect me in the UK but it’s amazing seeing everyone out there calling out those in power. Hope you have a good week and enjoy your new books.

  9. I have been on a semi-slump for the last month and a half and I had the flu last week so I didn’t really have any discussions written up! Urrrghhh

I am celebrating my blogoversary/birthday next month. I still don’t know if I have any plans for that on my blog… LOL
