Sunday Post: Book Pre-order Campaigns & Giveaways Galore – 10/20/19

Posted October 20, 2019 by Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction in Sunday Post / 22 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on my blog and share news about what’s coming up in the week ahead.

This past week on FYFA (and in my life):

Jade is recovering nicely from her surgery. With the exception of a few minor bouts of nausea and an ankle that sometimes hurts a bit, she seems almost back to normal. So thankful!!

Now my youngest had his wisdom teeth removed yesterday, so he’s the current miserable one. LOL! I will be happy not to have to deal with medical stuff (I still have a good while to wait, though).

The rest of life is a blur right now, which is fine. Sometimes you have those seasons. Sorry I’ve been behind on the Discussion Challenge posts and monthly wrap-ups and such, though. I’m hoping to catch back up soon.

Here’s what you may have missed on the blog since my last Sunday Post:

Book Blogger Birthdays and Blogoversaries:

Birthday-150 Blogoversary-150x150

Here are the birthdays and blogoversaries for this week! I hope you’ll go wish these bloggers well on their special days! Make sure you check out the calendar to see what you might have just missed or what’s coming up. (If you want to be added to the calendar, it’s easy! Just fill out the birthday/blogoversary form.)

Book Haul:

For Review:

This is the first time I’ve ever gotten personalized swag with an ARC—um, wow! (My name is printed on the container of candy hearts—I just realized it’s hard to see in this lower res version of the pic.) I’m really excited to read Sick Kids in Love by Hannah Moskowitz! The cute cover was created by Elizabeth Turner Stokes. Thanks, Entangled Teen for the review copy and the fun notebook and candy hearts!

From NetGalley:

I’m such a huge fan of Tara Sims, so I was excited to get Scavenge the Stars for review from Disney-Hyperion! The cover was designed by Marci Senders using photography by Tom Corbett.

Great Discussions/Goings On Around the Blogosphere:

Pre-order Campaigns

Poor mom and poor kids. Sending hugs and wishes that both your children heal quickly. I still have my wisdom teeth, but my daughter was miserable, when she had her’s out. I have been seeing the Sick Kids in Love box everywhere. I have only received two such boxes in my life, and it was nice. I felt special. I LOVED that book. I hope you enjoy it.

    • Jade got her wisdom teeth out over the summer and it was no big deal, but Noah was definitely more of a mess when he came home. I think the anesthesia hit him harder, and he wasn’t able to take as strong of pain meds because of his age and size (not to mention the fact that he was still more numb when he got home, so swallowing meds was pretty much impossible—he was a bloody drooling mess!!). Hopefully all of our medical woes are behind us now. 🙂

I read your review of Sick Kids and then, right after, received that box—so I was even more excited about it!!

  2. That personalised swag looks nice! And I guess you could say that your daughter got lucky, all things considered. The cars pic you posted a while ago was dreadful! Sending good vibes to both your kids!

  3. I hope your kids are feeling better. It sounds like quite the ordeal. I feel like personalised goods is a nice touch when it comes to arcs. It’s a nice way to acknowledge the bloggers that take the time to read and boost the book. Hope you’re having a fab week so far. 😀
