This past week on FYFA (and in my life):
This was a big week for us as far as school went because we checked out our local high school’s 8th grade orientation and decided that Danielle is going to go to public school next year. There are so many awesome opportunities when it comes to clubs and such, and I think she’ll benefit from seeing friends every day (and having them nearer to us geographically). Plus, I’m not gonna lie, I’m looking forward to having more time to work on writing and some of my own personal goals. Nothing’s set in stone yet, but we’re definitely leaning toward the switch to public school for Danielle in high school. We shall see!

Wow! What a big change for your daughter. How exciting. Good luck to all you!
Thanks! We’re both excited and scared at the changes. Hoping it goes well!
That is a big change. I hope Danielle likes public school!
I’m hoping so too. I’ll confess that I won’t be sad to have a little more writing time.
Hello, I hope you don’t mind that I tagged you in The Mystery Blogger Award here https://wp.me/p92pKs-oH
You don’t have to do it. I just thought it’d be fun ?
Thanks for tagging me. I can’t always participate, but I’ll definitely go check it out!
Wow! A public school switch! That must be exciting and terrifying all at once. The good news is that if she really doesn’t like it, you already have the experience for teaching, so you have something to fall back on. <3 I hope, whatever you decide, it all works out!
Yeah, we’ve said that this doesn’t have to be a forever decision, but freshman year is the year to try it if we’re going to. I won’t lie—I’m hoping it works out so that I have a little more time to focus on writing, but I’ve loved homeschooling!
Oh, that is exciting! I hope everything stays in line for her to go to public school next year. The opportunities of clubs can be a really great thing for kids to find their niche and what they like. I hope it all works out so that she is happy and you can work on your own projects, too.
Yes, when she saw all the different activity options, I think that’s when she started to get excited about the idea of public school. We have a fantastic co-op, but we just can’t offer all of that!
That’s pretty awesome for your daughter! I hope she enjoys the new atmosphere!
Hope you enjoy all your new pretties too! Happy Reading!
Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I’ve got high hopes for a great freshman year for her!
Have a great week! Thank’s for sharing all the different giveaways and blogger birthdays.
Always happy to share!
Oh, that’s exciting that your daughter might do public high school. They do have a lot of great extracurriculars available. 🙂

We’re excited about it. I’m hoping that it works out well for her!
Wowowowow, awesome giveaway list and blogger promos. Good luck on your daughter’s switch to public school. My son did that as well, from Catholic school to public and he loves it. He loves both. He really missed his old school but he adapted fast. Good luck!
I’m hoping she adapts fast as well. It’s a big change for us!
I hope the move to public school is a really positive one for your daughter! And for you. 🙂 The extra time for writing will be such a gift.
Yes, the increased writing time will be a big plus for me. I’m hoping it works out great for both of us!
I hope the switch for Danielle goes well 🙂
I only just now remembered that I forgot to link all of my posts to the discussion challenge xD whoops! Barely in time, haha 😀
I’m glad you remembered. I actually wrote it in one of my comments because I thought maybe you weren’t linking them up because you thought they didn’t qualify as discussions. 🙂
The switch to public school is a big decision. But I think it can be a good thing. We had a couple students who came to our public school after being homeschooled and they did a great job. And I think they enjoyed the different environment as well. Good luck with however you decide on that. You can check out my Sunday Post in the link below. Have a great week!
I’m hoping it will be a positive switch for her. We’re looking forward to trying it out!
Oh wow, that’s a huge change but oh so exciting! Wishing you all the best of luck with this decision!!
Thanks, Jen—it’s scary but exciting!
